Great CB thanks for the post making it official!  I agree it not good be "allowing speculation to run rampantly out of control"  :)

So Season 8 will not be filmed this summer.  Instead TPB is taking a break this summer but we will see a one hour special next year instead of a full season.  Hopefully there will be more episodes filmed in the future, but no new episodes will be shown in 2008, just a special.

I still have season 7 to look forward to.. It's the only thing I havn't seen yet.

It's gonna be weird to go a whole year without a new season -  but they say absinthe makes the heart grow Fonda.

I sure hope the decide to continue the series.  I agree on the taking a break part.  It will give the writers chances to come up with new and improved ideas for the show.

I'd actually like to see 8 hour long episodes if they do make a season 8.  a 20 minute episode once a week isnt long enough.  they could show an hour long ep every two weeks, which would allow more development per episode and maybe it would keep the series from jumping around like season 7 did.

Dont get me wrong, it did keep a similar story line, but we never did see Ray after s07e04 until s07e10.  and we didnt really get to see J-roc and T all that much.

Anyways, thanks for the news, will be looking forward to it!

Taking a break? what successful TV series "takes a break"?? They are probably doing a one hour special as it's in their contract with Showcase. As for another season forget about it. Hopefully there will be a writer and some actors that can take over where Trailer Park Boys dropped the ball. There's obviously a demand for tv programs like this, so let's find the ones that can deliver and move on.

Hopefully those that take over where TPB's left off will give at least the normal amount of episodes per season.

Careful, MrLahey. You might get a piss-jug or two thrown at you for that comment. I know I did once... er, twice.
Look Randy, I'm mowing the air!

You can't teach me anything about the liquor.

I can't exactly control the direction my eyes go in all the time.

LMAO haha piss-jug,yep can't say I've had any piss-jugs throwen at me before...or yet haha
anyway yep,I'd rather let the boys take a break though and have them come back I don't think I'd be comfortbel with anyone replacing them,I mean they've been doing this non stop for over 6 years now,but anyway hmm yeah longer episodes whould be cool one of the guys up above me is right we didin't get to see much of what happens and I wanted to see more of J-roc and T but it's all cool, anyway heres one for our main boys  :beermug: and let's pass a joint  :6paper: heres to you Julian Bubbles and Ricky  :julian:  :bubs:  :ricky:
Season 8 is gonna be a blast  :D

Once you stop for a season it's very hard to come back again. Also cast members will move on, they aren't going to sit on the side for a year and then all come back. People need to work to live.

My guess is one of the major cast members decided to do something else, and the whole series got derailed, fitting since the last season was about a train. "Taking a break" LMAO that's great PR work by showcase, but probably not the entire story. It's over, get over it and let's see some talent come up and take it's place. Doesn't even have to be in a trailer park, could be some other setting but with the same humour style.

MrLahey is just a drunk bastard, don't listen to him!

Srsly though, the show must go on. They dind't drop the ball with season 7. Maybe take out that avatar from the season if you think is was so bad and go back to living in 1999 where you belong.
