I'm going to repost what I just did in another thread and bold the relevant part to this discussion, which may be of some interest:
"There's been speculation for a long time that another TPB project might happen. Certain cast members say they wouldn't mind reprising the role again, but something seemed like it wouldn't happen for quite some time since everything kind of had busy schedules doing different things.
However, there's been way more clout to these rumors ever since the boys started their US tour in early May.
For example, I had the chance to sit outside the NYC venue before the show started, and I shot the shit with the guy who was filming a documentary for them. He is the same guy that's also had a fair hand in filming the show and I believe even stepping into a director capacity for certain things related to the show, such as the Big Dirty behind the scenes. He confirmed to me on May 10th in this convo, that 'everyone involved' has been seriously talking about doing something else rather soon since everyone's schedule seemed to be clearing up. He said another movie would be most likely what they would end up doing, and if all the right cards are played, there's even been a little discussion about possibly having the third movie tie in to a new season of the show...
but let's take this one day at a time. Right now it seems the movie is happening as he had said, and I'll be thankful enough for that. If it entices anyone, Showcase or a company that Showcase might want to 'lease' the program to (like how Fox allows Futurama to air new episodes on Comedy Central now), to make a new season though... that would be great. So, my advice would be to SUPPORT THE FAHK out of the movie and make sure ANYONE you know who's a fan of the series goes to see this in theaters (where possible since not everyone lives in Canada), and BUYS the damn thing on DVD!
Needless to say, this is a freakin' dream come true, even if it just ends up being another movie and nothing else. But I would again like to emphasize that just because Showcase may not want to air TPB because the newer guy in charge doesn't like what they've done for Canadian comedy, doesn't mean that they might not let another network air it while Showcase works out a deal to retain home video distribution rights or something. So again... support, support, support... I'm doing the best I can. I just saw them twice within a week... once in Albany NY, and then again in NYC, and did a meet and greet with the boys as well. I already owned the complete series imported from Canada, but I also bought the Cheeseburger Locker when it came out on DVD. I also own the TPB book that's out.
John Dunsworth said in a very recent interview posted somewhere on the forums here, that he believes that the show has more fans today than it did yesterday... and I have every reason to believe that this is more and more true with each and every passing day. Canadians are pretty familiar with the show, but thanks to the boys touring in the States and overseas, and huge fans such as myself converting people to new fans on a regular basis... this show is STILL spreading around the world like wildfire. The fact that this show has been easily accessible on Netflix for some time now helps a lot, too. There's no reason why this couldn't continue as a movie series or a TV series as long as everyone involved has their heart in it... and from the sounds of what I've heard on here and from that guy in NYC, that seems to be the case.
