Give it an hour or so and check some popular torrent sites, or Ares (www.ares.org).

I'm going to give all my thoughts on the episode after I give it another watch. But I will say that I am pleased. It's back to normal, and I'm sure going to be a really funny season! First episode was really good! I won't say I laughed an entire lot, but I truly did think that episode was better than season 4, and I wish those that don't like it would explain themselves, I am interested to know why not.

I thought the episode was great, it had lots of funny stuff, but also explained some of what happened.  I loved the whole jail scene, i thought that was hilarius.  It was good seeing cyrus again, and i wonder if those two brothers will be in it any more.  It was funny how the cop looked like george green but wasnt.  ITs almost as if he is trying to be like him.  And the roc pile coming in and "pimping up" the girls Trevor and cory were talking to, and they looked sad.  From what i gathered, lucy sarah and barb screwed cory trevor ricky julian and bubs.  Bitches, but how dumb is cory and trevor.  I loved the feel of the episode. awsome stuff!!

That was a great episode, funny and not off-the-wall stupid.  Watch all the people who jumped on the band wagon during season 4 to come and say it was a bad episode because it didn't have a mountain lion or a stupid puppet.

Favourite part was probably them all telling each other to fuck off.  And it is good to see Julian actually have a personallity and not just the straight man.

I don't think it needs a mountain lion to be funny, but a few jokes would be good.  It looks like they are straying away from the docu style except with a few interviews thrown in to make it look like one.  Gonna have to give it a few weeks.  It started out like a show that wanted to stretch out the storyline as far as they could.

I totally agree that episodes seem to get better with time, but I think that this episode was meant to be an expository episode anyway. It takes time to explain all the events that have occurred while the Boys were in jail. If tons of crazy stuff just started happening without any kind of explaination, would it make the show any better? I'm sure in relation to the rest of the season, this show had to be this way...By the way I thought is was hilarious when Lahey referred to Julian as the guy in the sexy black t-shirt!

Edit: P_S, I've been out of school for a little while as well, I had to look expository up in the dictionary to make sure I was using it right!

Wasn't fuckin' long enough!  It was over before I knew it...It was awesome....I liked how Cyrus was playin' the same fuckin' song in his car from like season 1, ep 1....Drunkgirl and I gasped together and said in unison "CYRUS" when we heard the music....if you didn't like this episode well.......*bites tongue*.  Come the fuck on boys.....there was tons of shit in there that just flew right over everyone's heads....I for one am completely satisfied with the first episode. :D   It was awesome.

As far as opinions on "was it good, was it bad", I don't think anyone has the right to feel offended for someone expressing their honest opinion. That's what discussions are for.

I myself didn't 100% "luv" S5E1, but I know there will be more to come that will have me rolling on the floor.  Where do I say that TPB series sucks?  Nowhere, just the first one left me missing something.

I think statements like "IT SUCKED" is a cop-out.  Why did it suck?  Explain to any of the cast or crew who might be reading that thread what it might be lacking.  And believe me, they are reading it.  That's why I'm so pressed to figure out what, exactly, it was lacking for me.

the first episode has to clear up a lot of issues, and also introduce what is going to happen in the upcoming season

22 minutes is such a short time for them to do all of that, which i think is the major problem here

That's IT!  You guys/gals are genius :D  It was too much jammed into just 22 minutes, and I had a hard time absorbing what was going on.  It was all "willy-nilly" for me.  I think an hour season opener is an awesome idea, too, melba!

I still love "bagminton".  I swear, and pleeeez don't laugh, I was such a backwards kid, all of those Rickyisms on the TPB's?  I had said most of them at least once at some point before I got a tutor in primary school.  I was SO fire-tarded :P

The hour long Christmas special gave us a taste of what we could be having! And we want more!

'Bagminton' brings back a strange memory: In high school I accidentally broke a badminton racket over the head of a girl in my gym class who was best friends with a really mean girl (kind of a bully), and I was terrified that I'd have the snot kicked out of me after school, luckily the girl wasn't hurt too bad, and she didn't have me pummled.

I've tried to post a reply two fucking times now... fucking piece of shit app...

Ah this time I tried preview fucking first... looks like it will work this fricking time piece of shit...

Overall great, way to much to cover in 1/2 an hour...

Last we saw Trevor and Cory had new clothes, car, trailer, and owned the trailer park...

We find out that Barb (wasn't she the minister from Ricky's wedding, and the cop was the detective that arrested Ricky at his wedding) screwed T & C and she got the park back, but what happened to the clothes, car and trailer?

If the girls screwed T & C why did they let them put a restraining order against Ricky? Shouldn't they be pissed off and want nothing to do with them?

Leahy is up to something...

Julian needs cashfor his trailer, what will they do? Jail sucks now so they probably don't want to go back... maybe they will collect bottles for the returns...

Great to have new shows, could have used an hour though...

Personal thoughts so no need to post I don't fucking agree replys, or use big learned words, just let me drink some rum and coke and eat pepperoni...

Ya I noticed that too.

I was impressed with the filming in the park, from what I understand they only have like 12 trailers on the set or something like that, had I not known I wouldn't be able to tell that it is not filmed in a real trailer park.

I liked how Julien still had his glass in jail, what was in it water?

I thought it was halrious when Lahey was describign the boys to the cab driver and said Julian wears a sexy black shirt, does Lahey have a cursh on Julian or something?

Yes, yr right, Cory and Trevor running off like that - it would have been better if they had hung around a bit more - just to explain things. hahaaa Just watched Give Peace A Chance again and now they're playing Closer to the Heart...

loved these lines from tonights episode:

If Charlie shit a billy goat....look who it is? ~ Cyrus to the Boys

Get the fuck in there and look after the haaash ~ Cyrus to the Asian brothers

Holy sweet flyin' fuck....it's a liquorlanche ~ Bubbles to Ricky and Julian

I'm gonna grab Lahey by his drunk little throat ~ Ricky to camera crew

Holy shit Julian, you got us a lemonsine? ~ Ricky

What are you sayin' inflatable Elvis? ~ JROC to Randy

among others....

I'll say it again, it wasn't nearly long enough.   It'll seem even shorter when I watch it from the dvd when it comes out.

Speaking of wanting more Trailer Park Boys, I read in the Toronto Sun today that there are 10 episodes this season not 8, I don't know if that has been brought up before in another thread, but it's fantastic news to me!

I'm watching "closer to the heart" right now, it's in my top 5 favourite episodes... "Rickey that's willful distruction of garbage!" lol, Lahey you slay me.

That's the thing about TPB, you have to watch it a few times to appreciate all the humor.

Some of the highlights… (after only having watched it twice)

Loved the scene with the brothers, the idea of them having to go there where they play video games with their units hanging out.  When you go there you have to pretend you don’t hate being there.  Loved Bubbles’ reactions to the bizarreness of it all.

The Fuck Off scene, classic.

The pissing scene, especially Victor.

Ricky’s powers have no effect on super cop…”I’m not George Green”.

That was the quickest episode i've ever watched.

It felt like 10minutes long, i wish i could fast-forward to next sunday.

I liked it though.

They all stopped for a piss break and where interviewing while everyone pissed in the background and then rickys like how long does it take the limo driver to piss. That was funny.

Then J-Roc called Randy Inflatable Elvis LOL

And Julians sexy black t-shirt!!!! LOL

I was expecting Cory and Trevor to be againsed the boys for the first few episodes instead of going right back to being scared and sucking up straight away, i thought they would try and stick up for themselfs at first.

Can't wait for next sunday.

Bagminton

Super long piss
Motel gut guy
"Play a big song on the mangoline"(sp?)
Sexy shirt
Cyrus
But of course all of this is made redundant by past posts :(

We spend the entire off season re watching and re ree hashing all of our thoughts on each and every episode. Then the build up to 22 min of anticipation...... :|
It's easy to see how one can feel let down at first ,before letting the season unfold and build on what we have just seen. Things needed explaining and setting up. More will make sence and become cool and funny as he season progresses.

Terry & Dennis were awesome, killed my expectations totally, after seeing them on that CBC game show thing ;)

JP was hillarious too, throughout :)

".. you got books on wilderness, like check out that fuckin bear.. ya know, he's got that salmon.. ya see I'm kinda like that salmon, I'm kinda like the guy that swims upstream right? and I'm trying to avoid these fuckers.. so I take what I learn in jail, and I go home and try to survive"

First of all, hello again everyone, I haven't been around much in the last few months. @ vcgal, nice to see another Peterborian here, gives the Scientist and I some local company :D

I really wish I had watched the episode a second time; because, I feel I missed so much due to anticipation of what was coming next. I, like some others, didn't find this episode "hilarious" from start to finish; but, I agree with those that realized that 22 minutes just isn't long enough to link this season to last season.

I'm just happier than fuck that the new season has started, and eagerly look forward to next weeks epi; though, I really hope they go to a full hour format for next season. Fingers crossed :D

I hope those two drug dealers aren't going to be permanent on the show...They kinda suck. Nothing funny walking around wearing a housecoat and having your junk showing..I do it everyday!!! As a matter of fact it's showing right now...
On a plus side, is it just me? Or does Sarah look really good this season?

Playing the commentary on my season 4 discs,  Mike C explains a little on where they're headed this season

My guess is they'll be staying  @ Ray's place. Ricky's has his car, Bubs has his shed (bottle locker hehehe) & Jules will get Rays room  when he goes off to con college for performing wheelchair fraud.

Nice to be back.

I think I read too many articles that were posted by the orgsters.  It seemed like I knew what was coming next and it kinda took the anticipation away.  I haven't watched it a second time yet so when I get to watch it again, hopefully I'll have a more positive reaction.

I think my problem was with Lahey.  He needs to be drunk.  When Rick was about to tell him off, which would have been really good, he turned to a blubbering mess when Lahey tried to shake his hand and apologize.  Other seasons, Rick would have had Randy in a headlock while chasing Lahey into his car.

The boys used to get excited about being home but this time it seemed like they were more interested in the money.  Wasn't that the storyline 2 years ago?

Can't wait to see where it goes now.

Hello everybody! Glad to be a part of this ... again.   I haven't posted here - but used to post when Showcase had a forum - but they shut it down -which is a great thing since now I found the best TPB website ever!

I was in the VIP line at HMV Toronto - behind Ghostdog - and was in the line last year too.  (Nice to put faces with the names - but I'm shy.) Bubs -
by the way - gave me a big smile.

Last night's episode was a good season debut - not the funniest - but they had several plotlines to introduce.  I'm happy they didn't get to own the park because over the winter I was trying to think of what they would do with a season of time to fill - just get really drunk and kick Lahey out of the park would have been the first episode and then what to do with the other nine? I'm glad they will have to find new ways to make money this season - and let's face it - they are much funnier failures than winners.

Also - being a girl - I really LOVED the fact the ladies are stickin' it to the man this season!  (You go Barb, Lucy - and yes - Sarah IS looking better this year.) I love how Clattenburg and the other writers utilize ALL the characters - ever the repeat ones so this doesn't turn out to be the Ricky,
Bubs and Julian show.  (that would be something people would really have a point in complaining about.)

*****

best LOL line 'liquor-lanche'.

Upon a second viewing and a good night's sleep, I feel that my only problem with the episode is that it "went by too fast" (FunkyZebra thanks for that terminology, I think it describes the feeling more accurately); so much happened in such a short amount of time. The episode was hilarious! I think once this episode is put in context with the rest of the season, those who may not have been thrilled with it at first will come around to appreciate it for what it is:  an introduction. The first two episodes of season 4 weren't my favourites at first, but I have since seen them multiple times and come to think that they are extremely funny! I think we should all take the advice of the title and 'Give Peace a Chance,' give this episode a chance. I think that's all for now.

Randy sure has a thing about Bumble Bees ,eh?

I am begining to love the scene at the dealers house! Classic TPB situation!  The Grandma serving sake and sushi! As soon as they said that their partener was "old school" ,I knew that we would be seeing Cyrus!

So a few inconcistancies have been pointed out ,such as What happened to Vince The Pince??????

But here is a Big question. Randy said that Julians trailer was auctioned off under the "Proceeds of crime act" ...what proceeds? The cops didn't seize any $$$ ,the fake drivers licence was Bubbles ,the 15 joints were in Rickys pocket . Julian even threw one of Rickys joints away before harvesting. The pot was all picked up by the courier. We didn't even see Julian get arrested, so why did he  end up in jail at all?

I thought it was funny overall, but the episode itself was shit.

Bubbles pissing was definatley something that I will remember.  Victor was funny too, and then Ricky telling Victor to hurry up or they will be there all day.

Blow up Elvis was great too.  And of course, "So dad, Cory and Trevor fucked up?"

"Oh yeah, big time, buddy."

And then the scene switches to Ricky charging out of thr trailer, gun in hand.

Funny, but no storyline.

I only watched the episode once, but enjoyed it quite a bit.  I was laughing out loud... especially when J-Roc said his 'you know what I'm saying' about 7 times in a row.     I also loved how Ricky referred to it as "BAGminton"... and of course Bubbles getting his face caught in the net was hilarious!  Oh and the scene at the drug dealers' house was quite funny as well... all in all a great episode.  I noticed some people here not liking the fact that it was a bit slow moving... but I personally prefer it when it's slower paced with more dialogue.  But that's just me!

I enjoyed it :-)
Rip roaring funny , no , but pretty good all the same .
I think they did a lot of work in that episode , in setting things up and tieing up loose ends from last season.

You could say the humour was a little more "downbeat" , not a bad thing either .

Don't forget if TPB's is to survive , it's got to seek new ground , or it becomes stale and that's a lot harder to do than it may seem , it's a work in progress , and that's the way you gotta view it .

Overall , i am looking forward to more BitTorrent downloads :-)

I agree, the show must change or else it becomes boring. Yes the older episodes are classics, so maybe newer ones should be judged on their own merit and not compared to older ones. Does anyone really want the show to just rehash old bits and rely on what worked in the past?

Also, I think that a TPB episode needs to be judged in the context of the entire season. This isn't one of those shows where sequential episodes have nothing to do with each other. Each episode is building on the story from previous episodes.

I think of it like this, we all just watched the first 23 minutes of a really long movie, they have to lay down the groundwork and tie up loose ends, the laughs will come, patients people patients

I liked that Terry had a Monte Carlo, that alone cracked me up pretty good.. After Ricky flattened his other one with the garbage truck (he was a hero for about a minute)

Looking forward to watching this one again tonight. I'm a big fan of slower paced, more dialog, life inside the park kinda episodes. This show's character development is nothing short of amazing, and I always found it a shame when that's replaced with over the top, unrealistic events that seem geared towards mass appeal, and cheap laughs. Don't get me wrong.. Ricky getting electrocuted last season was hillarious, but I had to wonder about all the smoke (and mirrors) :P

This episode reminded me of when the boys get out of jail, and go get french fries :)

Hey All,

It has been awhile since I posted but I had a second look at Give Peace A Chance and it was a gutbuster. All season openers seem to be a set up for the season ahead.

Some of my favorite parts of the episode -

- The Pissing Scene - Especially when bubbles had both hands behind his back and was circling around.

- The Fuck Off Scene - Classic! especially when Bubbles, the man of reason telling everyone to calm down., "Just everybody fuck off all the same time,  calm down!" lmao

- Dennis and Terry's Grandmother - smiling and bowing when Julian and Terry had the pistols out...too fuckin' funny...

- Trinity giving Ricky the headlock....

Favorite Quotes from the Episode,

Bubbles - "Holy sweet flyin' fuck....it's a liquorlanche "

Cyrus - "If Charlie shit a billy goat....look who it is? "

JRoc to Randy - " What are you sayin' inflatable Elvis?"

Rick in Limo (doing a toast) -" We forgot one thing, To Cory & Trevor!"...lmao

Lahey to the Cab Driver - "Let me guess!...One of them is wearing thick glasses, one of them is extra stupid and the third guy is holding a drink and wearing a sexy black t-shirt.

Lucy (reference on her boob job) - "We spent lots of money on lots of things.....I got $7500 bucks!"

I totally agree last year was too over the top, I enjoy the deeper plots and better writing this season so far although its a little early to say.  No crazy cougars or puppets from the smoking depths of hell.  And much better more realistic camera work I should also add....no crazy angles that look like the "Julian hired camera man" is floating in the air either :P

I think the reason this episode wasn't laugh out loud funny throughout is that the boys got fucked.  It was frustrating.  Obviously, it's the setup for the whole season but still, getting out of jail used to be more fun.

I'm really pissed.  All their friends fucked them.  I hope they get everyone back by the end of this season.

If anything, the boys where fucking them for the past 4 seasons...

But i expected Trevor and Cory to stick up for themselfs more than they did in the first episode.

Interesting !
I just finished S4 last night , i really liked it .
Yeah it did go a bit mad but overall i thought it was a pretty awesome season.

It would seem , and really we gotta see several episodes , that S5 is taking a slightly different direction .
But it ain't sold out , that's for sure , it's not gone for the cheap giggles, looks like there may be a bit more depth to it .

It's ( i thought ) a little more *gritty* , bubbles comments about buying drugs off Ricki's *friends*  was really on the mark, i really do think that S5 is gonna be real interesting .

Enjoy :-)
That's what it's all about !

I agree with Ranger, canuck and c.d. about Give Peace A Chance - it was a very satisfying start to the season. I think it probably signals a back-to-basics kinda  season, and maybe a slight deepening of character development.
Somebody said earlier that Ricky didn't have time for Trinity because he was chasin the money, but I think it's clear he was just hell-bent on croaking C & T.
Even after the cops warned him he was jumping up on the porch after them. It was hilarious and real when C & T went running off - I would too if Ricky came after me with blood in his eyes!!! Can't wait for eppy #2!
Big Cheers!

Just re watched the show
Randy sure has a thing about Bumble Bees ,eh?

First off .... I'll say that I loved the new episode! Julian bench pressing......should have had his shirt off!!!! =P~  Many funny parts in it. But it's like everyone has been saying..... they had to fill in the gaps with this episode.
But about Vince The Pince.....maybe the judge realized he was tricked and made Vince The Pince go home ( maybe to Ray? ).  I think Julian was sent to jail cause he was involved with everything that happened. But you're right saucy.....technically they didn't catch him with anything. I guess you can chalk it up to being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Regardless of it all..... it was great and I'm looking forward to seeing more. You know Lahey is totally up to something. Didn't anyone find it funny that Mr.Lahey had a paving roller going over the driveway? My dad worked in the paving business for many years. You can't roll out cold asphalt and if it was warm...you would have to be wearing special boots.

WOW...Man I am away for a few hours and a whole shit storm breaks loose!  I got dinged with a nasty fucking virus last night...shut my whole compuiter down...hubby got er all cleaned up and whammo...same thing all over again this morning!  I'm good to go now.

OK...where to begin..I didn't HATE the epi, I just didn't find it as laugh out loud funny as some others.

Things I didn't like...
the scene at Terry's trailer...funny at first, but I too thought it went on a bit too long.
I guess I was maybe expecting more about Ray and the VLT addiction...
there was more stuff, but I can't put it into words...just a feeling.  I think part of the problem is something the actors have no control over.  In the first 3 seasons, they just weren't as experienced acting, but as the seasons have gone on, they have grown and gotten better.  Unfortunately this is not always a good thing...there were a couple of times last night when I felt that Robb was "acting" as oppposed to just "being" Ricky...one in particular was the scene with Lahey apologising to him...I just thought it was too "acted" and not really mocumentary!
I didn't like the "New and Improved" Sober Jim Lahey...but that will go to hell in a handbasket soon enough I am sure...gawd I hope so anyway!

OK...enough of the bad, here's what I liked:

J-Roc, Tyrone and DVS eating cereal in the kitchen...I don't know why but that scene was hilarious to me...maybe I have seen enough stoned people with the munchies...so much so that they will eat anything like they have been starving for a week!
The Liquorlanch...funny as shit.
Randy and Mr. Lahey playing happy family...nice!
I loved Barb when she was talking about screwing over Cory and Trevor, I love that smug look she gets on her face.
I loved when Cyrus pulled up with the same Vette with the red spray paint trying to cover up all the black paint from last season.
Pissing scene...classic...especially Bubs with his hands in his back pocket.  Also did you notice that Julian pissed for the longest time...while Bub's was talking there was J and R pissing,  then while Ricky was talking he was pissing with Bub's ...

OK...thats it for now....once I watch it again, I am sure I'll find more stuff that I like, then stuff I don't like!

I too have had a chance to rewatch the show a couple times.  Better than I had originally given credit for.  Looking forward to a good season.

As for the cats, it looks like Bub's is shit out of luck.  They are likely all gone now that the shed is full of empty liquor bottles.  No place to live=some fucked kitties.

Does anyone know if terry's rims were the spinning hubcaps or the real deal?  If they were the Canadian Tire spinning hubcaps then the episode is 24% better.

A quick note about Lahey, that may point to his "being up to something" as has been suggested by some here. When they first mention that he has been sober, it was 1 month, but when he is talking to Ricky, well, when Ricky was going to kill him, he says he has been sober for 2 months...

Suspicious?? I think so :D

So, there is waaay too much to read, so Ill just add my 3 cents worth of what I thought about episode 1.

Ok, so I was psyched...got all anxious about 3 hours before, thinking that Showcase had better show it, knowing full well that they would, but since I was at my weekend OSAP paying job I was freaked out. It was diff cable and they only have one Showcase channel....ok, so the show is on now...

I liked it, did not love it, but liked it. I didnt think that the boys would get the park, however I was dissapointed in how that was dealt with. Thats the thing that I was wonderig about all year and it was addressed in a 30 second speil from Barb...
Ummm...Where is Bubs cat? The lil mawfucka that he wanted in jail LOL

Too much time on Dennis and Terry, though it was fuckin funny. The

Cyrus thing was predictable, but I loved that he had the same "Dick" car and the Fuck off scene was prolly the funniest in the show.

Bubs pissing, almost made me piss myself....OMG that was HILARIOUS!

I love that Trevor doesnt have a mullet, boy MJ really took one for the team by sporting that hairdo LOL

Did Lucy get new boobs?

The liquor lanche in Bubs shed was HILARIOUS...

Where will Jules live now?

I think that overall it was a good show, really sets the tone for the following episodes, which is a good thing!

And what the fuck is bagmanton LMAO....Ricky, Im stuck...Fuck I love BUbbles!!

And there you have it Staceys 3 cents worth!!

But that was in the park, Terry and Denis live in a house. Unless they moved. I did see the connection between Terry/Monte Carlo but figured it was just an "intentional coincidence" for the humour value.

They might have left the park to live with their grandmother to help cover the hash dealing from the cops.  Like Julian said, the cops don't mess with them there.  So since Ricky went to reform school with Terry, then maybe they did live there.  Or Terry could have been visiting the park when his car got dumptrucked.

Yeah I think there is mention of it in the commentary, a running joke always mentioning a guy named Terry when they refer to other guys.  They spoke about a Terry in jail as well.

Is Terry the same guy who Julian got in a bit of a standoff with in that tunnel in season 1 or 2? I know the guy in the tunnel was all dark in the shadow but his name was Terry, wasn't it? I forget.

I thought ricky was buying dope off Sam in the tunnel? ("Sam's fucked" - Julian)

After watching the last commentary on the season 4 dvds, Mike C says they use the name Terry, Danny, etc.. a lot in the show. The Terry we've just met though had a Monte Carlo - leading me to believe it's the same Terry that had Ricky flatten his car. The other Terry's can just fuck off :)

Unfortunately tossing that name in as much as possible as a "John Doe" sort of name really reaps havok when there's an actual fleshy character called Terry, as we've noticed.

I say they need to start using "Travis" as a park name or something fresh :)

And also laughed when Randy says he's never seen Lahey so positive and in the background Lahey says, "Randy..." but you don't see what he was going to say or anything. Classic!

I quite simply adore it, the few places where I thought the pace was slow seemed like they could well be setup for the next few episodes.  For instance I don't think that's the last we'll hear about how Babs got the park.  There's not much for me to say here that's not said already, I think the various blocking scenes of everyone in the limo taking turns pissing on the tree made me laugh the hardest.  LOL to QAFgurl for noticing Bubbles didn't have his cat- I actually worried over the little guy!  Did they take him away or what?

If this sets the tone for the whole season it should be a fine ride.  There's LOTS of room for them to play with this setup.

I found S5E01 much the same as S4E01 - it was an okay episode with some good lines in it but it wasn't great.  Don't get me wrong - I liked it and lot's of "plot" was covered.  Set up the balance of the seasons nicely - for example:

1. Jullian needs $7,200 to buy back his trailer and the brothers and Cyrus have a big deal coming up in "a couple of days" - there's an episode right there lol!

2. Ricky still hasn't seen the "couple of things" Lucy got with the Corey and Trevor money - that itself could be an episode - can't wait to see Bubbles reaction!

3. The boys just know that Corey and Trevor screwed up - they don't know that they screwed up while purposly trying to screw over the boys

4, Plus more, and more, and more .....

All in all it seems like this is going to be a great season - and TEN episodes to boot!

Off topic is there any benefit over Stachoice than ExpressVU.  I have subbed to Expressvu through a Canadian broker for the past 2 years and am considering changing over to Starchoice next month.

Does anyone else think that Sarah and not Lahey called the cops in episode 1? Because she told Rickey to stay away from corey and trevor if he knows what's good for him, and she said she knows what will happen if he goes near them and she waves at the cops as they drive away.

Sarah was the only one who knew Rickey was on his way to J-Roc's, Lahey did shake the cop's hand BUT Lahey went ther to get J-Roc to turn the music down, he didn't know Ricky would be there.

Sarah's got it in for Rickey, he better watch his back

1ST of all, HOLY FUCK PEOPLE you post a lot. I spent the past hour just reading through this post. I purposly avoided it until I saw the 1ST ep as I was unable to watch the fucker on Sunday.

Now to all those who were less favourable towards the 1ST ep, give "Give peace a chance" a chance. It will "Grow" on ya as time and season goes on.

Me I loved it. The pissing scene was fucking hilarious, Yes Jules must have a big bladder, but did anyone notice what Bubbles was doing while he was peeing. I think he was spelling his name (Not circling around). And the Limo driver getting involved in the pissing scene.

The Terry and Denis scene was hilarious, thank god for thoses blures though. I'm not really interested in seeing anyones unit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I knew Cyrus would be back, and as soon as Terry, and Denis started talking about a partner, I knew it. Then you can hear the music.

Well over all iy fucking funny, and I look forward to the rest of the season.

I had a friend of mine download the new season 5 episode and I got to watch it last night!!            :D and now for my 2 cents:

I absolutely loved it!!   I was late to work today because I just had to watch it over again this morning.    Season 4 scared me a bit what with mystical Conky and the Ricky smoke scene.  I thought for a moment that the boys were going Hollywood.   This season 5 is back to basics and true to the story.  Best scene:   Ricky & Lahey apology scene wonderfully acted!
2 cents over.
Title: Best is yet to come
Post by: Jen on Apr 22, 2005, 01:01 PM
Episode One is a teaser for whats to come. I think they planted alot of clues in the dialogue that will be addressed in other episodes. As an example, in the scene where Ray is in his kitchen breaking the news to the boys about Corey & Trevor, he starts to say 'lost' instead of 'took' the money - hitting on the VLT thing.

I was abit surprised at two things tho - Julian picking up the gun when that would be more like something Ricky would do. Plus the fact that Ricky didnt spend much time with Trinity. I wonder if jail changed them abit. Also Bubbles didnt mention anything about missing his kitties.

Lahey is up to something. Then, again that smile that Sarah gave Ricky when she told him she knew what would happen and the wave to the police makes me think theres more to that also.

My fave part (that hasnt been mentioned yet) is where the cop tells Ricky he can see rite thru him and Julian moves from behind Ricky off to the side. Plus the way Julian stares Lahey down in the final scene is what convinced me that Lahey isnt being sincere.

I noticed the actors hair looks awesome in that episode. I liked the "do's" before but think they were the best ever on this episode.

Yes, I think episode 1 really set up enough story lines for each character, and some new characters to last this season.  I liked the new drug dealers and their grandma!  Wonderful how Grandma is just going about her business while the boys are being boys!   It was great when you could hear Cyrus coming before you saw his car!  LOL.

Lucy and Sarah's new "we got money look" was great.  The 7 and 5 thou reference is that boobs and nose lingo?  In L.A. it is.   Everybody looked great!  Julian looked more buffed.  Sarah looked hotter than always.   And my hasnt Trinity grown!  how sweet.  I hope they show more father & daughter moments.  Its nice to see them balance Ricky out with a dose of fatherhood once and awhile.

I think that I'm looking foreward to epi 2 more than I was for #1 .After watching it 3 times ,I see how much work the writers put into all the little details .This is gonna be a great season!!
Now ,I wonder if we will be seeing any more of Treena. They at least need to have an explanation of where the heck she went.

I thought this episode was kind of slow and weak.  Though I'm sure it's really meant more of a build up to bigger and better things to come.

The Japanese pot dealers were good though.

yeah, you never know who might be back this season.. some people are even saying levi might make an appearance after mike c's "hints" :)

they did mention her last season though when lahey was trying to get barb to marry him again (so he could control the park and extinguish ricky's external shitflame)

they'll need a better explanation than tommy chong's character has for his return to that 70's show "Where were you Leo? - I dunno" :)

I agree, it would be great to have Treena back on the show, but how to explain her lengthy absence . . .

My wife just suggested that Treena returns to the park with the guy she ran away from home with. Who this guy might be, I dunno?

(Ellen Page has been busy making small films here and there . . maybe she is not available?)

Cheers!

Treena lives with her mom Barb....not in the park...and she is kept away from her dad.  She only visits him for a few weeks every summer (which we dont see except for that one summer)

Doesnt take a rocket appliance to figure out a way to fit her back into the story :D

But Barb lives IN the park?

Maybe they could just bring her back in and pretend like nothing happened, the way she left and Barb could blame Lahey for not taking care of her.

Okay PS, let's say Treena went away to stay with her grandmother . . now she is back in the park because . . 1)once a trailer park girl, always a TPG    or   2) she has been accepted on scholarship to Dalhousie University and needs to stay with her father and Randy to save money.   or  3)her grandmother died and she no place else to go.

C'mon Treena!

Cheers!

It's been funny noticing how the phrase "cut your piss off" gets thrown around more and more in the newer episodes. Did you guys get a load of Bubbles pissing "freestyle" (no hands)? :D

love the sig, DVS. That dude who yelled that is only known as "Danny" I think (which actually just sounds like Mike Smith yelling), always cracks me up. I hope we get to "hear" more of him this season!

Thanks man, and yea it is Mike Smith who does the voice. Donny is a fucking funny guy. $10 dollars, I paid Ten fucking Dollars a month for this?
Title: Ricky's reaction.

Did anyone else notice in "Give Peace a Chance" when the boys where in the cab.. right after Ricky shoots off the gun he looks as if he is shaking and the look on his face is near pure terror.. like he didn't know that was going to happen.

The episode just aired here in Oz for me...

AND IT FUCKING RULED!! I think it was the BEST episode yet, I liked everything about it, but there are 4 parts I really especially loved about it: Julian, Cyrus & Ricky telling each other to fuck off
                                                    Julian benchpressing
The guy with the drink in his hand wearing the sexy black t-shirt  :perv1:
Julian getting a cushion getting thrown at his head by Ricky  :P

I went all out and taped it then watched it twice, I thought it was that good! I even did a silly thing and copied down some quotes for future reference, lol.

Julian: Well guess what, this is my gun, so fuck off!
Cyrus: You fuck off
Julian: you fuck off
Cyrus: no you fuck off
Julian: you fuck off
Ricky: Cyrus, you fuck off first, and then we'll all fuck off
Bubbles: Calm down and we call all fuck off at the same time, calm down
Ricky: I'm not fucking off.

"I'm not saying what i'm saying, but i'm sayin', know what i'm sayin'?" - J Roc

"Who wants to go to a house to buy dope and be greeted by a grandmother? that's pretty greasy if you ask me!" - Julian

Yeah yeah, I marked out, it was that good!  :D :julian:

Old stuff but such a great season. I like the whole Cyrus/flappy bird bros. versus the Boys. Everybody likes hash too.  :6paper:

Worst title for a TPB episode ever. I usually don't like it when the title isn't a line of dialogue. (Although "The Delusions of Officer Jim Lahey" has a nice ring to it.) "Give Piss a Chance" would be better.
I think the limo scenes and scene at the Flappy Bird Brothers were classic. The Flappy Bird Brothers scene blows away the Jesse's Girl scene in Boogie Nights insofar as creepy, awkward drug dealer experiences go. Don't know why people dislike Dennis and Terry so much, although I think TPB uses them just enough. A whole lot of them would be too obnoxious.
"I'm gonna kill Jim Lahey" is the best cut-to-credits line ever.
 :P :6paper:

What I wanna know is WTF is that 60 foot high corrigated concrete wall at the end of the street that Dennis & Terry live on. It's also seen where  :julian: :bubs: :ricky: & the Limo driver are pissin before they get to flappy bird brothers house
What the Fuck IS that
