Deadliest Catch
« on: May 17, 2009, 05:20 PM »
Deadliest Catch is one hell of a great show. If anyone doesn't know its about king crab fishing up in Alaska. The danger they face to make a living and feed their families is completely nuts. The boats and the captains are as follows:
Time Bandit: Jonathan and Andy Hillstrand
Northwestern: Sig and Edgar Hanson
Cornelia Marie: Phil Harris(who is out sick this season) and
Murray
Wizard:Keith and Monty Coburn
This year the Time Bandit is kickin ass. Jonathan has been right on top of the crab. The Northwestern is doing pretty good. The Cornelia Marie is not doing so well, but I believe this is because this is  first time out without Phil. The Wizard has put it all on the line this year. They have just hit a mother load of crab because of Monty's site of walrus. Keith knew that was a good sign and dropped his traps at the site and BANG traps full of crab.
If you couldnt tell my favorite is the Wizard.
Any other watchers out there?

Hell yeah!  Definitely the best reality show out there.  That is one hard way to earn a living.  The spectacle of the ships being tossed around by an angry sea is just amazing in HD.  Those guys are a special breed.  And that's where I learned what a Duck Fart is. (Bailey's Irish Cream with a shot of Crown Royal).

yeah duck farts are awesome. I just got done watching it tonight I find it no surprise Jonathan is the first one done. I think its totally awesome Keith is finally on the crab and with some big fuckin pots 100's thats totally rare. I dont know if Jonathan even got these #'s. I guess if you want something follow the walrus I guess the Beatles even got it right must have been key for them too. Well I hope Murray starts hiting some big #'s, I feel real bad for him. Although at the end of the show it shows a ship setting off a flare so I hope its them in celebration. Thanks for reading.

One wierd thing I noticed.  Since the start of this season, the Cornelia Marie has been flat out fucked, and every time they pull a pot it's been pretty much empty.  But when they showed the count totals, I swear that they were still in 2nd place.   How drunk was I?

A friend was asking me if I could work for a guy like Sig.  I think I could, because I know what guys like that want.  Keep your head down, your mouth shut, and get your job done.  But that doesn't mean I'd want to.  If I ever decide to leave IT for a real job, I think I'd greenhorn for Capt. Jonathon on the Time Bandit.  He seems to be the only one with a sense of humor.

I see the same thing that they are in second place. I think Capt. Sig is one of those people who want to see how far they can push you. They want you to give it back to them. I think hes prob pretty cool we all can be dicks at times.
I would want to work for Phil he totally kicks ass. Jonathan would be my second choice.
I would prob work for someone who has a good rec for fishing and pays well. No need to bust ass for no money.
I believe the cornelia marie is hugh and they dont like to go empty back to port. More fuel costs.

RIP Captain Harris. :(

Last Tuesday was Phil Harris last episode on The Deadliest Catch  :(   Pretty moving episode indeed. He collapsed in the pilot house of is boat.  Then was flown to Anchorage where he underwent extensive surgery.  He was looking better but as we all know took a turn for the worst and passed away.  Very moving scene with Johnny Cash background music.  Following that show they had a show called After the Catch where they were in a bar in New Orleans telling both Phil and Fish/Crab stories.  Pretty cool guy who worked his ass off and partied even harder.  They say one night someone tried to drink Phil under the table and Phil put down about 40 shots of Crown Royal    R.I.P. Phil you will be missed

Sybil Fawlty: Don't shout at me, I've had a difficult morning.
Basil Fawlty: Oh dear, what happened? Did you get entangled in the eiderdown again? Not enough cream in your eclair? Hmm? Or did you have to talk to all your friends for so long that you didn't have time to perm your ears?
