what does it mean?

Existentially speaking, I've no fucking idea. But check out the CGAY radio station audio link for further enlightenment.   ;)

 :D

Just had a quick search to see if the boys had made any headway with the new show, and it looks like I may have checked at just the right time!

Thought I would sign up to say that for some reason this town reminds me of Royston Vasey ;)

Do you think I might be right?

lol ya me too man,

The boys are developing a new show (that's JP, Robb and Mike, not Julian, Ricky and Bubbles)

The show is tentatively called The Drunk and on Drugs Happy Fun Time Hour; the quaint little town of Port Cockerton and its 'All Gay, All the Time' radio station is a taste of things to come.

The full story about the new show is here http://www.trailerparkboys.org/forums/index.php/topic,8464.0.html

Updates to follow...

Ok, there is an all gay radio station.
Please tell me they won't all be poooh punchers. (my rickyism)
Tell me the show has more of a plot than that.

Truxter, the boys have mentioned in previous interviews that there will be a host of new characters. So there will be a lot more than just hot man-on-man/sasquatch/barnacle action (no matter how appealing that sounds).  ;)

The show will now be called Port Cockerton and JP, Robb and Mike are shooting the pilot episode, to pitch to Showcase, this coming weekend.

All I know is that they are shooting the pilot for Showcase this weekend. Beyond that, I could only speculate. I would doubt there would be a torrent until after it airs on Showcase.

As Fishy mentioned, filming for the pilot was completed over a weekend last month; hopefully Showcase will give the show the green light soon (come on, Showcase!)

A few new snippets of information for you...  there is going to be a lot of rubber and foam. Prosthetics, that is. Apparently the guys are going to be changing their physical appearance quite drastically for some of their characters (which includes an elderly man, can't wait to see that!) and they have a top movie make-up specialist working with them. Awesome.

WOW, that has just piqued my curiosity Tiggy 8) Any idea if it will air on Showcase soon or if we have to wait for the new series to be filmed first?

I guess it depends on the type of pilot they shot. Pilots act as an introduction to the characters and themes for the TV execs, but are not necessarily the same as final product - the b/w TPB pilot was a lot different to the show, for example. I believe that was filmed before the series was commissioned (correct me if I'm wrong!); I guess it gave Showcase a chance to tweak the format and adapt the show to suit their needs before committing to it further. Showcase never aired the TPB pilot, of course.

Other pilots act as the first episode, introducing the characters and maybe the storylines for the series. I believe DAODHFTH's scripts were already written, so maybe the pilot will be more like this, and perhaps consist of the first 1-2 episodes.

I think this is basically a long way of saying I have no frigging idea.

In the case of TPB the original b & w movie was never intended to be a pilot, it was just a movie they wanted to make.  It was Barrie Dunn that approached Clattenburg and suggested he make a series out of it.  Of course Clatty's first reaction was that Barrie was nuts :)  Since they already had the movie made it ended up being sort of a pilot for the show, but as we know the characters in the movie don't match up exactly to the characters that they ended up going with in the show.

The town's name has been changed from Port Fuckerton to Port Cockerton (yes, Port Fuckerton was a lot funnier, but there you go.) That doesn't mean it is going to be the name of the show. I hope not!

aww they coulda gotten away with it with a slightly different spelling ya'd think... like..

Port Fucherton or Fuqerton ...reminds me of trying to make naughty AOL screen names back in the day- a little loophole we found was if you signed up through the AOL Japan client you could make a name with Fuck in the title because it wasn't considered flagged in their language! hah :P
