Yeah that caused a stink here in Canada, the Defense Minister contacted Fox and they apologized.  He said they should apologize to all the Canadian families who lost loved ones fighting in Afghanistan.  Apparently these Fox people aren't aware Canadians have been fighting in Afghanistan since the war started after 9/11.

Americans aren't found of -30 degree Celsius weather.  Otherwise, they would have attempted an invasion.  NOr are they fond of French. 

Trading in their guns for shovels isn't high on the list either.

there wasn't one smart thing said in that whole 4 minutes and 24 seconds.  These idiots should be banned from ever saying anything even remotely close to being in public. 

I really feel bad for the people that would watch that and possibly believe anything these god damn idiots would say.  I know a few Americans and luckily not one has ever said anything like this.

Foxtards!

I know a few folks who have served in Afghanistan who have worked with Canadian troops and have had nothing but good things to say about them, especially the sniper teams.  I hope no one thinks that these moron talking heads who probably haven't served a minute in uniform reflect the opinion of most in the US who appreciate the sacrifice that Canada has made in this effort.

Unfortunately there are quite a few people who watch "Fucked News". and they take what is said there as gospel. I can usually tell in the first two minutes if someone watches FN by their warped worldview. Fox is nothing but the propaganda arm of the right wing Republican faction in the US

Um, sorry guys! Fox News is full of tards.  Even before TPB, I had reason to love our northern neighbors.....Spider Robinson and hockey (blood bounces on ice).   Actually, since I fell in less than three with Trailer Park Boys, I've learned a lot more about Canada than I knew before (and my ex roomie's dad was Canadian!)

I guess, in my limited world view, I always thought it would be a good idea to NOT piss off the people who live directly above us!


PS....I saw on Fark today, a thing about "doner kabob flavored ramen"   made me wonder if it was donair meat.   DUDE....I need to travel to Canada just to try this delicacy..... it sounds so much like a greek gyro, which i <3 with all my soul.......

The main thing that got to me was when they were comparing the American police to our Mounties.

Would you rather live in a society that your police have to wear bullet proof vests and drive in heavily armoured police car(tanks), or in a society that the police can wear nice red uniforms and ride horses (not like that happens anywhere on a large basis).  I mean do these people think that having a million illegal weapons on the streets and in the hands of other idiots is a good thing?

I've never owned a gun, my father never owned a gun and I don't ever plan on it.  But my Canadian friend who moved to Maine, was able to go to Walmart and buy a gun with very little trouble (he's an experienced hunter/gun owner).  But that just blows my mind that there are some people that think it's a good thing.

You are right the Mountie thing doesn't happen on a large basis, we also have many more non-mounted police with bullet proof vests.

I remeber From Bowling for Columbine That Canadians have the same amount of guns or even more than the americans. Also Remember for shootings and that sort of stuff, If I remember the Statistics that these are on the decline but we notice them more because of the media coverage.

Now for those Fucktards at Fox That is ignorant. Plus Broadcasting something like that is totally stupid becasue it gives others some Ideas if they want to attack us but I don't think that we are that totally disabled. I totally agree that our military has alot of out of date shit, unlike the americans that spends millions on their armies but I think canada has done really well with what they have got at their disposal. Plus our mission is not to go in and create war but we are supposed to be like peacekeepers so we don't need as much weaponry.

I respect both the canadian and american military for what they are doing but I believe equally that all these soldiers should come home and leave afghanistan to their own Devices becasue no matter what we do they are probably going to war so we all should just come home

For what it is worth, Canadian troops have a reputation as the best on the ground down here.

I 'think' Canada has lost the most lives per capita of anyone helping out in Afghanistan too.
