My photos from Bush Protest in Ottawa

The protest took place very close to where I work and live so I figured I'd check it out.  Some of you here might enjoy these pics, taken Nov. 29, 04.

Great pictures Shake. Really good composition and subject matter. I enjoyed that.

Great pics Shake, I think that if I was in Ottawa I would have been out with a sign...Something to the effect of stop sending innocent lives to fight a war that should not be. Maybe a bit much for a sign, but something like that!!

Thanx for the pics

Three Cheers For SHAKE!!!

I am so glad you got out there and protested! The pictures made me feel good. I saw a person in one of the pictures had a Kerry/Edwards campaign sign. Where the heck did they get that???? I handed out that sign to the crowd at the AZ rally! To see that sign being held up in Ottawa really made me smile.
Bush is so used to seeing protests in the US but I feel the protests have more impact when he is in another country.
You might be sexy Julian....but you can't teach me anything about liquor....

I hope so as well, but I fear nothing bothers that regime, I think they feel that they are, to quote Dylan, "With God On Our Side".  If anyone here has never heard that song they should download it.

You do have a good eye for photography, Shake! Ever think of going pro? I'm sure you could.

Thanks Ben.  I'm actually interested in getting into photography as a hobby.  I'm looking at getting a better camera and taking a course or something.  There were times in my life when I'd see something and wish I had my camera, I'm going to try and carry one around more often.

I wish that picture of the 2 girls talking to cop had been in better focus, I thought it was really cool.  I croppped out that part of the pic, but I guess I didn't let the camera focus enough.

Police pull mom and daughter off sidewalk
by Emrys Tuesday March 22, 2005 at 12:44 AM

This was the only arrest I saw. Witnesses said the girl threw an egg at Bush's limo.

Escorted into median...

Looks like the cop is twisting the girl's arm a bit too much (And she's 14 by the way)

Being handcuffed...

After this, the cops took the two across the street to their squad cars, where a group of republicans began cheering.

(Check out the Aunt's outfit ! Man...that would totaly look like me as a cougar !)

Here's a video an onlooker made of the Motorcade Arrival:

I recommend reading/watching some Noam Chomsky interviews. He essentially accuses Bush and most past U.S. presidents as being war criminals. He points out that according to the official definition of "terrorist state", the U.S. can be classified as one. Chomsky acknowledges that George W. Bush is a religious man. But he points out that according to Bush's favourite philosopher, Jesus Christ, he should not point out other people's sins without examining his own first.

RumNCoke, I LOVE Noam Chomsky. He's tough to listen to though. He has a mumbling soft speaking voice but he is so worth the effort. Sometimes he is a guest on Air America radio and the FreeSpeech TV channel.

It would be such a priviledge and honor to be a student of his.

Mucho Respeck to the R to the C. You know your shit brutha man.

Thanks. Noam Chomsky once came to my university to give a lecture. There were so many people camping in line that I couldn't get in.
