Sorry I missed your question about the LC Scooby, but I see heavymetaldick addressed it.  That is actually covered in the FAQ thread, you should read it.

I've had many donairs here in Vancouver. I enjoy them, I dont understand why everyone thinks its shit out west. The place I go to has Halifax style ones as well as others.
I laughed when I read someone said they ship donairs out from NS to the rest of canada. Pretty sure thats totally wrong, there's been donairs for hundreds of years before there was a Canada.

I once saw an article that the donair, not to be confused with the gyro, was invented by a Greek immigrant in Bedford, just outside Halifax.  He came up with what is known as donair meat.  Again if there is no donair meat in it, then it's not a donair.

Fair enough, I think I know why I was confused.
Gyro is the most common thing around here that resembles a donair. Its very rare to see a real donair here.
The reason- gyros get called donairs, I guess to help sell them.
Thats cool a guy from outside halifax came up with the idea. I wondered why donairs are popular there.

I had a gyro with sweet garlic sauce the other day. Tastey, and it was probably the closest thing to a donair that I've seen.  :julian:
:ricky: my fuck, I love spicy meat, liquor and dope  :6paper: :ricky:
Fuck off, I've got work to do.

Mr. Sandwich is out of business now, they were one donair place on 12th. But Paradise is still there, good prices like a pizza for $5.

Those donairs they make there are considered gyros by almost everyone else. The confusion is there are some people that say gyro/donair is the same thing.
A difference with a donair is sweet sauce or ranch instead of tzaztiki or hummus.
