Are you worried about rising oil prices and changing your habits?

Me and Mr Tiggy tried the hypermile test today (driving more slowly, not treating every green light as a Formula 1 start and taking things steady). We managed to squeeze some extra Ks from our $1.35 per litre gas, but it was the most frustratingly slow drive home ever - even more so for the poor suckas behind us...

And the $ to fill our oil tank last week could have bought 65 bottles of Nova Soctia wine. It's all wrong.

Yeah I know, we're leaving tomorrow for NB so we got to drive through the 1.50/L quebec.  I filled up today at 133 here but that'll only get me 5 hours or so.

Was in the states last Saturday and it was 4.17 / gallon, which is still high.

what they need to do is make compressed NaturalGas availible here. Its apparently big in many parts of the world....they have a huge manufacturing plant in (of all places) Chilliwack. We pay $1.50 a litre for friggin gas here as well. NG is about a quarter of that, and wayyyyyyy better for the envirnment...mark  my words, NaturalGas will be the nextbig thing within the next 10 years.
But yeah FUCK YOU oil prices. Double whammy.

I have no hard evidence of this, but it always seems the GTA/Golden Horseshoe area usually has some of the lowest prices in gas (this is coming from my limited exposure to gas prices in other provinces/areas of the country on the news). I wonder why it appears this way? I was at half a tank today & filled it up at $1.30/litre.
I drive a Hyundai Accent; it has a fairly small gas tank (maybe about 40 litres?), & it gets pretty good mileage. I drove up to Kingston (approx 400km) a couple weeks ago; I left my city with a full tank & stopped (after approx 230km) in Trenton & I still had more than half a tank. I don't mind having a small car, I usually don't have more than 2 friends in it at a time, there's enough trunk space for me & because it is small & light it is good on gas. However, for people with kids, I can see the necessity for having a larger vehical. My car is certainly not the epitome of cool, but it gets the job done.

Oh fuck. Even though I don't won a car myself, I have had to start paying my parents for gas money so I can get a ride to work (while my friggen brother gets off scot free and asks my parents for way more rides than I do and at larger friggen distances).

My parents are kicking around the idea of getting a scooter and getting our motorcycle liscences. Yeah gas is way out of wack.

Hey Melba, I think Your theory of where the best gas prices to be had are correct. I lice here in orillia and I have lately been watching on the news their gas price tracker and I have noticed that in my city, we have been one of the consitant lowest prices I think right now sitting between $1.20 to $1.37 a litre.

Three of four sleds require the higher octane (91 in Canadah) fuel and none of the sleds get frugal mileage :(.  Perhaps I should use thicker carpet or wedge a block of wood under the gas pedal :-s!?!  It probably makes more sense to move to the City and by a phuckin' scooter :(.

Found out from Stoney's Mom that it's $1.70 over there.

When I was over there 2-1/2 months ago it was $1.40.  How quickly it rises.  :shock:

Solution, Buy a friggen Vespa. those things do excellent on gas mileage and are great for personal transport, so if you just need a ride to work, vespa is the way to go. (good luck trying to buy insurance though-My family is considering about buying one.)
