However- I paid over $350 US to watch it back in March of 2007 in Austin Texas at SXSW Where it had three or more screenings and continued to play a bit there after the festival :P

Went and saw the movie this morning at the AMC Palm Promenade.  There's something symmetrical about seeing a movie from north of the border less that a mile up from the southern border.  The two friends I went with and I almost had the theater to ourselves but a couple came in at the last moment.  I own the DVD so I've seen the movie a few times but both my friends hadn't and thought that it was really funny.  They've both seen episodes of TPB so they knew what to expect.  Sadly there has been no promotion of the movie in the area and the clerk at the ticket window had to take a moment to figure out what movie we were asking for.  Unless the movie has been better promoted in other towns I doubt that these showings are going to result in much furthering of the US market for TPB.

Sucks. I looked at the movie box office list, it isn't even in the top 100 (but that cannot be right as the movie has made money, I don't know why it's not listed.) Hopefully it will start to get more exposure in the next few weeks.

I'm wondering whether it was a odd move to show the movie in several arthouse theatres, it isn't exactly an 'artsy' movie as such. The original b/w movie would rock in those kinds of cinemas though!

According to this site, those numbers appear to reflect gross revenues from the original Canadian release of the movie:

I don't know why it would be listed as US gross, but from what I saw today I doubt that the movie has taken in that much in the US in just over a week...

Thats because there is no way that they would be able to get one red cent of money from the government here for that movie without the wacko "morals establishment" boycotting, protesting, etc. Look what they did to the series on a cable network, beeped the fuck out of it.

that's happened here to the Atlanta date too, what the flying fuck is going on?!

I contacted the fucking "art" theater over there explaining to them that I'm bringing a whole crew of people over to watch it and that we'll buy all their shitty popcorn and gummy worms cause we're all stoned - they haven't responded yet.

There's some kinda weird conspirbacy guys- they don't want this movie played in the US.

Please tell me that the movie is still playing in Bensalem Pennsylvania this weekend. I need some fun, i need to see this movie with some good friends and eat some chicken fingers and drink some swish. We had it all planned!

I have had the worst four days. My truck got broken into on Saturday while at a funeral and my husband's tools were stolen, then had a minor car accident yesterday and broke some guys tail light, now just got home from work to find on the answering machine that the dick is claiming back problems and is going after my insurance big time. It can't get any worse right? That's why i need this movie, this weekend!

I wonder with Oscar hopefuls such as Juno doing so well, the theatres have extended their run and will reshuffle TPB to another date?
