Definite date on USA Hollywood TPB premiere?

An American version of TPB is not something I would like to see. Where would the spin-offs end? Trailer Park Boys: The Musical?  Dirty Fuckin' Dancing - TPB On Ice?

hahaha TPB on Ice, that might actually be watchable if I was reaaaaaally baked.

But yea, I agree Tiggs- an American version would be fucking lame- it would take all the character out of it and that holds the show together.

So many shows that people think are classic american shows are just rewrites of british stuff, Sanford and Son, All in The Family, etc. love the american Office tho.

Is that the same gas station where you get those microwaveable subs at 3 am and on various American holidays  there Mitch :P   ;)

Yes I did eat a nuked sub sandwich there once David, not on christmas eve but I think it was on National Laundry Awareness day or some such there's so many weird pointless "national something day" for every single day now its rediculous :P

For instance, today is "National Barricade Day" whatever the hell that means =P

Actually I think it could be quite refreshing to see the American take on TPB especially with some sentiment that the later seasons were slipping (which I don't agree with).  Maybe keep it strictly in the documentary format like how the show started out complete with bumbling AV crew interactions.  I think all of the characters with possibly the exception of Bubbles would translate quite well into "American" characters.  Even then it all has to do with the right cast.  The aforementioned "The Office" would not have been a success if if Steve Carell wasn't chosen as Michael Scott.  I would, of course, prefer them to release the original series in the US since I love the cast but like I said before it's probably too late unless they get some genius marketers.

Ha ha, yeah I don't think that would be a good idea either.  As I mentioned in the "My Name is Earl" thread though, I wouldn't be surprised if some US TV executive saw TPB and came up with the idea for that "groundbreaking" show.

"RANDY!"

Actually the thought of other actors playing TPB kind of makes me sick.  As for the US version of "The Office", sure it is aiight but the US cast can't hold a candle the to the Brits.  That virgin guy is no Gervais!

Yeah ... and as much as I like Dwight, Gareth wins hands down.

And don't even get me started on "Tim and Dawn" vs. "Jim and Pam".  As much as I like Jim and Pam, they don't even compare.  If you don't agree, just watch the Christmas episode of the British "The Office".  I'm an old, bitter bag but even that episode made me tear up.

I would definitely NOT like to see an Americanized version of TPB.  Ugh. Perish the thought.

Was there early talk of US actors playing the boys in the movie/show or something? Or did I just imagine that.  :-s

I like the American Office better than the UK version but that may be just me liking some of the US actors better.

Should do a mix of US and UK
david/Michael- UK
Tim/Jim - US
Pam/Dawn - US
Dwight - US barely
keith/Kevin - UK
accountants - US
the temps - US
rest of the background - US
