BSOD
« on: Sep 23, 2007, 03:07 PM »
Hi folks, just thought I'd drop this problem in here to see if anyone can point me in the right direction as to how to solve it, because i'm stumped.
I recently moved. I took my PC along to the apartment I'm now in. It was working fine playing games and then I got the internet hooked up on Thursday. Things were OK until I turned on Azureus, a bit torrent program, and I got a blue screen with one of these somewhat common "irql_not_less_or_equal" errors. I wasn't sure what was going on, I blamed Azureus, so I kept it off for a while to see if the problem persisted. Though not as quick, the blue screen did appear. I've installed the latest Windows updates.
In my Event Viewer it says, "Error code 100000d1, parameter1 1400574d, parameter2 00000002, parameter3 00000000, parameter4 b638c2fc."
&
"0000: 53 79 73 74 65 6d 20 45   System E
0008: 72 72 6f 72 20 20 45 72   rror  Er
0010: 72 6f 72 20 63 6f 64 65   ror code
0018: 20 31 30 30 30 30 30 64    100000d
0020: 31 20 20 50 61 72 61 6d   1  Param
0028: 65 74 65 72 73 20 31 34   eters 14
0030: 30 30 35 37 34 64 2c 20   00574d,
0038: 30 30 30 30 30 30 30 32   00000002
0040: 2c 20 30 30 30 30 30 30   , 000000
0048: 30 30 2c 20 62 36 33 38   00, b638
0050: 63 32 66 63               c2fc    "

I immediately blamed the new modem for my troubles since my computer connected fine at my house before I moved and I had Azureus running almost constantly. A friend of mine checked it out and is quite certain this is the error: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/925922/en-us and tells me the modem has nothing to do with it, but I just don't know. Does anybody have any ideas?

Similar error message. It appears to be a hardware issue. A NIC card driver problem for this guy. Might be worth a look.

Take a look at your minidump and see if you can find something. Occasionaly a bit torrent program can waste your hard drive. It happened to me once

Did you have to add a new driver for your modem? I'm wondering if that isn't your problem.

I don't think so. the guy just plugged it in then I went through an activation process. As far as I know it didn't download anything, though it did take a while to activate, so maybe it did... I emailed my service provider outlining the problem as well to see if they might know what happened.

If you want to PM me several of the minidumps that are dated after you started having problems. I'll look at them and see if I see anything. If you don't have several, bsod it several times until you do.

I'll be away for a couple of hours but I will look at them when I get back.

You want me to email you the dmp in a zip file? or would that not work? I just don't know how to PM them to you.
