Vonage or Primus Canada VOIP Experience?
« on: Aug 05, 2007, 10:13 AM »
Anybody using VOIP from Vonage Canada or know someone who is?  What's your experience been like with VC or just VOIP in general.  What I need to do is keep a Toronto phone number when located in Halifax and VOIP seems like the best way to do it.  That said, being the caveman I am in some ways. I've never even looked at VOIP so I'm kinda clueless lol.

Someone wanna help a caveman out?  BTW ... be easy on the "Flinstone" joke okay ;).  TIA!

Vonage Canada / VOIP Experience?

I don't use Vonage Canada but I use the American Vonage and it works great!  I call Canada everyday and I love only paying 25 bucks for my phone, long distance included!  I was even able to use the same number I had with my land line.  Yeah, sometimes my phone calls are staticky and also my calls drop every so often but I still think it is worth having.  :)

Thanks for the input!  Anyone else? I'm kinda ify on using the technology but I'm starting something in TO that if we move to Halifax I want to contine and I'll need a "416" Toronto area code to do so.  That's why VOIP appeals to me.

I've been using Primus VOIP for a coupla years now, because I need a phone # in Calgary, but I live in BC.

The sound quality is fantastic, and I've had very little downtime due to Primus' fault, maybe 3 occasions.

The best thing about a VOIP box is you can take it with you.  I lived in South America for 8 months, took the VOIP, and made toll-free calls to Canada from there.  How cool is that?
