feeling all fucked up
i watched every season again this past month, every special feature and every easter egg. its been along time since i've posted on here. when season 6 came out i complained about the way that it was, but now i realised it is still a classic season. The movie is funny in different ways then the show obviously because it was done differently. That movie always leaves me feeling upset at the end for some reason buy its ok because its the movie. Season 7 was a dissapointment. trailer park boys will never be the same again for me, i know it. It doesn't have the same feel anymore at all. the lines could still be considered funny and there are many in season 7, but all the fuckin small changes add up and ruin the mood of it. something that sucks and i noticed right off the bad is the new direction of directing, it looks neater and more professional but it also looks dark and depressing it doesn't suit this show at all and therefore makes everything seem less funny, second is certain parts of the story. the train idea is just so unreal it just makes me constantly thinking what the hell? the stories before were also pretty unrealistic but nowhere near to the point of stupidity. now you could say ya but dope being smuggled by toy trains is hilarious... no... its not hilarious... it can be considered funny but not hilarious. there are a few episodes from seasons 1-6 that i never found too funny the main one coming to mind is conky, i never liked that episode or laughed that much when watching it, and now they did it again but more crazy. i look at season 5 as an awesome example of a good story, tons of funny conflict IN THE PARK (not in a forest) between lahey, randy, and the boys. I remember watching that season and not being able to wait for the next episode because of how much the story was sucking me in, it made me angry and lahey and randy and i just wanted to see what happened, with season 7 i just couldn't take it seriously, it was like the lines that that characters said are funny and typical for them to say, but it is missing the funny interesting situations they get themselves into. Another thing was how cory and trevor were gone, and then it didn't make sense to try and replace them, they should have just let them go, they were hilarious and can't be replaced, jacob was better as an employee that had a scene here and there. it was too obvious that they were trying to make these random people cory and trevor it was just such a bad idea, and the way they are doing the endings now is just so unbelievable, happy music with talking (and great directing but not this shows style btw) where everything turns out good, however this may be the ending of the show we don't know yet and if it is, i think that was a good way to end it, there was just nothing in it that made me want another season to be like sweet i wonder what crazy shit is gonna happen in the next season like season 5 did. I watch season 6 and i don't understand how i could have complained about it while it was airing, it is actually not too far from the shows roots but this is. it is really hard to put all my seaosn 7 thoughts in words because i keep leaving stuff out but for the show to make me enjoy it again they would have to take a step back in terms of production quality which i know won't happen it will probably only get better so to me the whole experience will be more depressing. now i don't want people to complain and say well why don't you just not watch anymore, because i know there are huge fans who still love season 7, but you have to realise i am a huge fan too, and i still have the same repsect for the show and everyone involved in it, but i will probably only ever find seasons 1-6 and the x-mas special to be of equal greatness, season 7 and whatever will come after will have funny parts but probably won't ever be as classic... but i still believe that there is a chance i could be surprised, they obviously won't take a step back in the directing style which isn't the biggest downer, but i hope in the future they keep the storylines simpler, more believable and i guess you could say "serious", and i hope to god they keep it in the park more... that would be a great start... im not flaming and sorry to those who disagree.... and to those who a--gree.. feel free to start discussing it with me... i havn't fuckin posted here a long while

Knockknock, I hear ya. A lot of people have all sorts of feelings about S7, there's bits I loved and wasn't so keen on. At least they tried something a bit different.

As great as it is, in the end it's just a TV show -  22 minutes of entertainment a week. Don't stress about it, that's the job of the director/writers...

when it was airing i loved watching a new episode every week but i will say, in retrospect, season 7 doesnt bear repeated viewings as well as the first few seasons.  phil collins overacting wears thin in seconds.  seeing ricky get pushed around by that runt tom collins was pathetic and did irreparable damage to the character in my opinion.  i know they want to keep the show changing but the ricky i knew from the other seasons wouldnt have let himself get pushed around by an outsider in his own trailer park.  the alien trevors were a bad move, although i enjoyed their episode of adventure in the forest mostly all they were was a constant reminder of what a loss cory and trevor were.  after the first episode where they explained what had happened to them they shouldve left those characters alone instead of recasting.

barb lahey was really good this season, and sam, mr lahey was cool but i like drunk lahey and he seems to have changed the character.  hate to say it but ricky and julians characters have really lost alot of their edge.  the early seasons i feel like sunnyvale is a real place and their characters are real people, maybe theyre just tired of playing those characters?  bubbles as scorpion was funny.  randy was great this season.

im looking forward to the special.. hopefully without hollywood interference they were able to go back to their roots and do something special.

See waht happened with season seven is apparently it is mostly stuff that was salvaged from the making of the movie that got rejected because it was not first time audience friendly. Maybe after the break they will come up with very new and hilarious stuff.

I know that Mr. Lahey and Randy are still in circulation with their comedy show tour and are nice enough to come back and visit us poor folk here in Thrillsville, Alberta.  Anyone else having/had the opportunity to see their show???  Good stuff, even plastic bag beard Santa makes an appearance...and Smokey.

That's way too bad.  I know that these guys are really appreciative to come out, even to the smaller places, to come and make us have a good time and meet and greet anyone and everyone.  Mr. Dunsworth is probably one of the sweetest and nicest people I have met in a very long time, and Patrick is just as graceful with all of the "we just love you guys!" that they are always bombarded with.  Very much looking forward to seeing them again in January, and I'll post some pics from previous gigs once i can figure out how to transfer some stuff onto this here notebook.  :beermug: :beermug: :beermug:

We have had two different cast members tell us that they will be filming a TPB movie this summer!

Lucy's quote from the USA movie release date thread

we really have no idea where the film is screening in the usa, and to be honest i have not actually looked it up, just because i am too busy. this is all in the hands of the distributor, so not answering can be explained by not having an answer to give. but suffice it to say that we are stoked that the film is finally going to hit american audiences. it will maybe inspire up when we shoot the sequel this summer.

And Phil mentions it here...

A movie is nice but I would prefer they shot a season 8.

However this movie should be more interesting seeing that
they won't have to rehash old stuff like they did in the first movie.

Be grateful for whatever we get, I guess.  :)

I was thinking the same thing Walt. They have taken a break and can concentrate on another quality movie without the distraction of having to do another season right away. Two birds stoned at once.

It would be great to get the second movie and then that followed up by another season...hopefully after a break and another movie they will have the fire to do another season or two...

yeah. I know Season 6 sucked major balls becasue they did the movie, shot season 6 on the heels of the movie and shot season 7 in the space of two years making that season a little awkward.

A second movie is great but I still would like a season or two. I see this series going like the way star trek did. Having a few good seasons then once it was over all they did were movies every few years to keep people happy.

According to the article posted by Tiggy Pudding here...

http://www.trailerparkboys.org/forums/index.php?topic=8535.msg170057#msg170057

"Canadians won't be seeing any new episodes this year, however. While the Boys did tape a one-hour special for Showcase last year, it's not going to air until the fall, likely in October. Volpe suggests "there are a couple of things up our sleeves in the trailer-park world," including (or so he hints) a sequel to the movie. In the meantime, hard-core fans can save up for the DVD of season seven, out in April."

With teh way it is going. it may be hard to do another season after a 2 years if the movie is going to be shot next summer. I wish season 7 will be released soon as I see it maybe in april. (i know I will catch flack for buying the season) Hopefully there will be a clue in there as to the future of the show.

According to the interviewer in this article, he asked John Dunsworth and Pat Roach if there would be a ninth season, and "Sadly, the answer was no."
