Hmm...I read on the showcase site that they wanted to take a bit of time off but make another season...

I don't see why they wouldn't......crap like Seinfeld and Everybody Loves Gaymond was on forever.....why can't the TPB's be?? :D

Seinfeld was crap? And it went forever? And it's comparable to Everybody Loves Raymond? On my planet things went a bit differently to that.  :6paper:

I have no clue. This looked like a wrap up episode and with them making a special which I am stoked for, I think this show is through becasue I just finished watching the entire season in one day and I swear that season looked just too much like the film, and as I have noticed with other shows that once they have broken with the conventions that has made theri show possible throughout the series, I notice that they seem to end.

It was also werid that when I boutght the season 6 dvd that they didn't have time to do the commentaries I love. I wonder if that was because it was too busy or they are starting to wind down the series. Well I will have to wait for the season 7 dvd's to find out what isgoing on becasue they sometimes reveal what happens next. Like I remeber in the Film commentary that Clattenburg went on for a few minutes Hinting about what was going to happen in season 7 but with the news of them taking a year off, I think the season 7 dvd's will be the definitive answer on what will happen to the future of this show. Trust me, I have at least watched each season at least 10 times within a month period.

But there may be a ray of hope here becasue why would they introduce all these other characters only just to have the show go off the air. There is alot more potential to develop these characters and make the show even crazier but I do understand them taking a break. I have listened to every commentary and extra and even watched the clapboards that were shown in the extras and they all are in about the same time period at at a very fast pace and I think they realized that they needed to take a break because with the film schedule being so slow and the show so quick and as I have heard in the commentary for the film they did alot with season 6, then shot and realed the film and then shot season 7 within the same year, these guys need a break. I just hope the show won't go off the air forever and with the dvd's that I own they will go on forever.

Yo Guys Check this out. This is from the official website. I think our dreams of seeing one last shot might be answered.

http://www.trailerparkboys.com/site_story.php?story=4

why would they mention this in his bio on the official site if it wern't going to happen and if it has made it way to other film festivals and was raved a hit then as soon as it comes out in the theater I am going to see it no matter what I have to do.

His 1998 film, One Last Shot, is now an international hit having played at film festivals in Houston, San Francisco, Australia, South Africa, and soon to be released theatrically.  His many other credits include directing sixteen episodes of Pit Pony for CBC Television and directing all of Season Two of the comedy series The Bette Show, for which he received a Gemini nomination as Best Director.

Strange as it seems I don't think that stuff about One Last Shot is correct.  I saw that on Clattenburg's bio on the Showcase a while back.  I asked if it was really true about One Last Shot and they ended up taking it off Showcase.  This was a while ago, I think if really played at "film festivals in Houston, San Francisco, Australia" we would have heard about it by now.  Maybe the writer of this got One Last Shot mixed up with the original movie, as has been known to happen?

well maybe get enough people and get the right thingsmoving with the right people, maybe, just maybe we could get them to give up One Last Shot because it is referenced numerously and it would be a shame not to see it.

By all accounts, they started production of the special today. Good luck to you all and we can hardly wait to see the fruits of your labour.

Ran into Richard Collins himself (Phil "The Mustard Tiger" Collins) at the SuperStore yesterday. I had a small chat with him and he told me filming went very well and he says it'll be the best of the Trailer Park Boys yet. He told me yesterday (the 20th) was the last day of a 9-day shoot.

I can't wait until we get season eight... I really hope there's a season eight. The way they just stopped the series, if they did, was just TOO fast. They just SUDDENLY retired.

Look forward to the one-hour special.
Hope to see more Ray and J-Roc in it than in season 7.

Hope the special isn't an end to the series, but chance to start fresh.

Yeah i hope it is not the end but I hope the rest will give them bigger and better ideas for the comedy of the show. I only think the comedy has suffered somewhat due to the rushing around of those guys but I do like that new writer they had for season seven but this next season they need to cut back on the story becasue season 7 it dominated too much.

So, do we have a release date for the special yet? Or is it just... 2008, at the moment?
