MrLahey is just a drunk bastard, don't listen to him!

Srsly though, the show must go on. They dind't drop the ball with season 7. Maybe take out that avatar from the season if you think is was so bad and go back to living in 1999 where you belong.

I like the avatar and I'll keep using it. Always been a Lahey fan. You say the show must go on.. but it's not.... no season for next year. So I say there have to be some creative writers out there that could produce a show along the same humour line that we've all come to appreciate with TPB's. I'm not gonna hold my breath for a 1 hour special. The formula works, people watch, so if they don't want to do it, then someone else can and be quite successful doing so.

I like that piss jug poster, I found that also a few weeks just doing a search on google. LMAO It was funny to see that it actually is a problem on the highways.

A one hour special of real TPB action, as good as the Christmas Special? Fantastic!
A one hour BTS Documentary like Hearts Of Dartmouth - Not so Good.
Ill get more excited when i find out just how special this special is going to be.

That's so special, to have a special, special. Especially when it's as special as this special will be. ;)

I think the break will do them good, I found the last 2 seasons to be weak and living off the cliches that have created fans in the first place. Some great moments but what happened to the magic the first 3 seasons had.

The break will give them longer to write and plan a great season.

How much possible more time could they need? They produce less then half the episodes a regular television show does. They only film in the summer. Stay in denial if you want. But it's over. You might see a special here and there, but I wouldn't count on another season.

1 hour special............ nice

Kinda depressed about no season 8 in '08 ........

Once you stop for a season it's very hard to come back again.

Sopranos didn't have any problems with it.

A year off I can take. Enjoy your summer guys. Have fun and come back with a BANG!!   :guns:

Doesnt it seem like we're probably going to get a 1 hour special
but only so they can wrap up the show?

We got a 1 hour movie (or special) to begin with.. so it makse
sense that they'll go out with a 1 hour show.

I really really hope for more seasons..     Please dont leave us!!!

I dont agree that the show has dropped it's quality at all... the show
has been great since day one and has continued to be great.  They
could show me 30 mins of bubbles sleep-talking about breakfast again
and I'd love it.

Keep em coming Boys!  Thanks for everything!

man, it's really hard to bite my tongue when you're so stupid sometimes. Sorry, but on "regular" shows, they make a living off that show so they can afford to do nothing all year but that one thing.

Stupid? You need to look up what market forces are. I simply stated that the show has a good formula and there IS consumer demand for it. Do you know what consumer demand is? Probably not... but it means that advertisers are willing to pay. So if the Trailer Park Boys can't produce to satisfy the market. Then let's find someone that can.

TV shows operate on a formula, this one works. But taking a break? that doesn't work. I watch TPB's for entertainment. If they can't or won't do it, let's get someone that can. A 1 hour special is bullshit.

Just my 2 cents..

I think you assume the demand for TPB is larger then it really is.

I think you assume the demand for TPB is larger then it really is.

It's the most popular Canadian series on the Network. Ratings show that year in and year out. More popular then the series that give showcase 20 or 22 episodes a season. So the demand is there.

I am hopeful that they will make it, but remain doubtful.  If a show such as TPB is popular on Canadian networks and has a strong DVD demand from other countries, it is doubtful that the average viewer will be satisfied with only a one-hour special next year + no premiere party next year + no huge showcase promotion next year.  (I even subbed to expressvu as a US resident for 5 years to watch this show) I am sad to say that the program is on a slow death course.

It's great show and as a probation officer, I could write a couple of exciting stories based on my experiences in parks.  It's just sad that they have only explored 10% of story lines of trailer park life.  Maybe another show will pick up the story line.
Damn it sucks not being able to see the episodes first hand again!!!

Good point Kuza. There's a really dark underbelly that could be filmed and as RockJ said...there's only 10% of the possible story lines told.
