Nobody mentioned the return of Shitty Bill? Minor character, but he still looks the same!
Shirtless Sam was horrible....he looks worse than Bobandy! Seems like Sam is back in a camper, but where is he living? Is that behind the KoD?

i noticed shitty bill was back. lol He was the guy ray took his plumbing to.

Allison, the other jingle he sang right after that is the commercial for Casino Taxi...."if you're a person on the go write down this number, its the means of traveling quick.  Casino Taxi just dial the number ...429-6666 or 425-6666"

I must have heard that stupid jingle every day I lived there....I'll never forget those numbers as long as I live!

Haha!  That's funny that you still remember the phone numbers hunnerbun.  I have been living in the Miramichi for almost a year now and still don't know any of the taxi numbers by heart.  I always have to look them up... yet I still remember the Moncton ones.

I remember the cab's in Fredericton and I haven't been there in 7 years.  6 people, 6 bucks, anywhere in town.  Squeezed in like clowns in a circus car.  My buddies used to steal the Cabbie's ID from the visor on their way out.  They had a nice collection.  I never did because they'd probably have to pay for a new one.  Asses.

Possible scenario for this season's storyline:

The baby that Lucy is having is not Ricky's. Possibly George Green? (Think back to Lucy getting caught with George's uniform on in season six.)

Great start to a great season.

I liked the fact it was in HD, as well as they are kind of bring back the documentary feel. (Shaking camera, close ups..")

The funniest part in the episode was (I know this is not word for word)

Ricky - "You might have too stay in there a little longer, Buddy"
Bubbles- "Define a little longer Ricky"
Ricky - "I don't know, maybe.. uh.. 20 more minutes hopefully"
Bubbles - "Twenty minutes? That doesn't make any sense Ricky, you mean to tell me that they close at 6:20.. no one closes at 6:20"

Jacob was really, really bad at acting, that "Bammm" crap was just stupid.. LOL.. but that aside I give this episode a perfect 10

Jacob:  "Bammmmmmm"
Phil Collins: "Peanut Butter and Jaaaammm"

I liked when Ray offered Bubbles a beer....instead of giving Bubs the full beer in his pocket, he gives Bubs the half empty, backwashed bottle in his hand.

Bubs hesititates, looks mildly disgusted, then drinks it anyway.
Little things like this make it great.

And that greasy cave man Sam....what a shirtless horror show!

Putting all unreachable and unreasonable expectations aside, I thought this ep was fantastic.  Lots of creative shoots springing up all over the place here that have set up great foundations for the rest of the season, with lashings of laugh out loud moments to boot.  All I hope is that this season is among the best - and on the strength of this episode, I'm sure it will be.

Great work by Mike C and all involved once again - this ep gets an 8.4 / 10 from me.

Looking forward to seeing how the pregnant Lucy story develops, I wonder what's happened to J-Roc's baby mamas?

Yup, classic TPB!  So glad they are back.  I like the new material introduced.  Gotta be creative or it will just get old.  Long live the Park!

FUUUUUUUUUUCK
I closed the window I was writing in. I had a HUGE post about all my favourite lines and shit. Oh well... The point was i loved the episode. I felt like they were back to the basics with subtle humour and good documentary like camera work. Every character had me laughing my ass off. So good to see Julian doing something funny, it's good that he's got a story... He's the main man of the documentary, right??

oh no, time for me to be the big bad guy here.

but first, I'll start with the praise ..

I actually am interested in this plot line for once, unlike when Season 5 and Season 6 first aired.  It's excellent to see somewhat forgotten side characters like Sam Losco and Jacob to be thrown back into the mix.  I enjoy the Lucy pregnancy angle, as most fans already know of Trinity being the daughter of Julian, and this may expose that this season.  The idea of Julian down the dumps, brings forth a foreshadowing of him thinking of some massive scheme to get rich quick, which is one of the key elements to a successful season of Trailer Park Boys.  With that in mind, it's time for the...

negatives...

I'm not too sure what Clattenburg was thinking with the changing of the cameras, but the way this is now being shot, it reminds me more and more of a mainstream television show.  The documentary style of the show, has now officially been ruined.  Very rarely are the camera crew recognized anymore, and the interview segments have become less and less also.  Although, at least (thus far) there aren't as many "clean cuts" as Season 6.  Case in point, the scene with Bubbles and Ray in the car, the camera moves back and forth.  I enjoyed it better, when the camera was mounted to the car, and the characters talked about (see Seasons 1-3 in Julians/Rickys cars).
Could someone tell me when this show became Family Guy?  What was with the Cory & Trevor flashbacks?  Never once in the show have I seen a montage or a flashback occur, and I felt that was unneccessary, regardless of a Cory and Trevor exit.
The opening sequences of Bubbles being high in the car, has jus shown how much his character has changed for the worse since the earlier seasons.  Bubbles has never been that fast of a talker, and never had those "high-pitch reactions" (ie - are you FUUUCKED!?).  I felt his character delivered better when he was more monotone, and 'dumb-yet-smart-sounding'.

I suppose thats all I can think of, but with all that negative stuff out there now, I'll take whatever shots anyone here wants to rebuttle with.
but at least this Season looks more promising than Season 6.

all in all, I agree with the title of the episode...
because I do fuckin' miss Cory and Trevor.

The positives of this episode were sometimes overshadowed by the negatives, or in other words, changes. The camera style being a huge change but Clattenburg did say the show would take on a look similar to that of the movie. The panning shots between characters worked very well however.

The grainy style of older seasons (notably seasons 2-3) will be missed. I understand the show will change, but the look does resemble a mainstream television show now. What was once such an integral part of TPB's charm and appeal seems to have took a turn for the worse.

As for what was said before about Bubbles, I agree. Bubbles has become less and less Bubbles the past few seasons, especially noticeable during the "I'm HIGH, HIGH, HIGH" opening scene. His voice has changed drastically, and the character has changed as well.

Now, for how Cory and Trevor were wrote off the show. The storyline surrounding these two seems very rushed, and confusing in general. The scene with Lucy, Sarah, and Trinity was especially painful. To write characters like Cory and Trevor off with such a weak arc (Mental Institution) with no real connection to the previous season is disappointing. Unlike tyrowjames, I did enjoy the montage because the supporting cast in TPB (namely, Cory and Trevor) has been fantastic and it was a nice send-off for Cory and the Trevster.

Some very strong points in this episode as well. Lahey's scene in the police department was especially funny, and well-written: "That's only .75 cents, Terry, for fuck sakes!" The developing storyline within the police department and Lahey will be a welcome addition to the show.

The episode did an excellent job of setting up further elements to be explored later within the season. However, some elements were a bit alarming with changes abound.

In all, the episode seemed to fit so many story ideas in one, that it ended up being a little convoluted.

Definitely looking forward to the follow-up.
