I figured you'd like it, Sarge. It really is a fantastic movie. I think it's doing well, too, in terms of awards and such.
I think I'll watch that movie on Monday to celebrate my lonely valentines day.

Just feel lucky that you have the choice to go to a theatre. Brockville bulldozed their only theatre 4 years ago and the new one is being finished until next spring. So we've got to drive an hour to either Kingston or Ottawa to see a stupid movie. Let's just say that we only go for good movies now. Although I have paid to see some stinkers.
The Incredibles was good though.

If you are in the mood for a light...funny and gory movie because you don't see anything you like at the rental store???. Try "Shawn of the Dead"

It is the British take on Dawn of the Dead.

It's great if you are in a "no-brainer-no-Heavy emotions" movie mood.

We watched "Ray" this evening. Well done, great movie.

Rented The Grude...it got "too late" (or, rather, too dark) to watch, so that's a "tomorrow afternoon while the sun's still up" film.

I think I still need to be sold on the other 2 I've been "toying" with renting. "Eternal Sunshine" (I'm NOT a Carrey fan, sorry, I've pretty much hated most every movie I've ever watched with him in it), and "Napolean Dynamite".

Carrey was surprisingly good in Eternal Sunshine. I know he's done some serious movies that people thought sucked, but overall I've heard that this is a great performance on his part. A lot of people that don't like him thought he did a good job. Me, I don't mind him at all.

I didn't like "The Grudge" much.

The Grudge had it's "BOO!" moments...but it wasn't scary, and it lacked a strong storyline. Not sure if a Director's cut would make a difference.

Had better scares and creepiness from Nightmare on Elm Street.

I remember renting "My Cousin Vinnie" with my father the week It came out on video. I commented to my father that I really thought Marissa Tomei's outfits in the movie were really pretty. (Miss Mona Lisa Vito I think was her character name)

You should have seen my father's face. Pure Disgust. I remember he scolded me and said "OH...You Godda Be Kiddin' Me.....You'd look like some piece of trash from a trailer park!"

Actually.....I consider that a compliment now because of TPB.

Don't know if this has been mentioned,but we finally rented The Village.

Oh man, what a horrid steaming pile of crap that was....I swear to god,I would have lost my mind if I'd paid full theatre price to see that one.
As it stands I still want my $3.99 back.

Should have known it was going to suck when Willian Hurt showed up in the cast.

I guess the big twist in that movie was how the hell could the guy who gave us Sixth Sense, come up with such crap.

I agree......The Village wasn't much. I seen Boogeyman the other night and the ending sucked hard core! It had a couple moments that would make ppl jump but I was disappointed in it......the ending especially!

I watched "Without A Paddle", "Frday Night Lights", "Sky Captain and the World of Tommorrow" (AWESOME FLICK) and "Saw"

the rundown.....Without a Paddle is funny. I love Seth Green, especially when he gives that look when the deer growls at him....The Natural girls where nice as well.

Friday Night Lights was so-so. Good movie, showed how fuckin' crazy Americans are about their football programs. Based on true events, the movie ends on a down note which is a nice change for once. I still like "The Program" better for a football movie.

Sky Captain was an all around trip. Lots of awesome computer generated effects, and just a really cool movie that takes you back to a time when you'd save up your money to go to the theatre to see a movie as a treat and not just watching another movie on the weekend for something to do type flick.

SAW.......was gay! I wanted to kick the doctors ass about five minutes into it, the whiny beeyotch!! Ok....it was a good story.....bad budget.....bad actors.....good gore.....kinda, sorta, almost, around the same lines as the movie SEVEN. It's worth a look if you like twisted shit.

Thanks for the quip on Sky Captain, that one has made it back on my list to rent.

I just LOVED (in Without a Paddle) the scene where Seth was being mothered by that bear. It's a must-see for anyone who likes to laugh, some really hilarious gags in it

Right now on HBO comedy they are showing "A Mighty Wind"

Since alot of the casting in this movie comprise of old SCTV cast members I think it's definately worth renting OR "Best in Show" is even funnier.
Same "documentary goof" groove like Spinal Tap but the humor is as dry as sandpaper in the desert.
