I read the book but haven't seen the movie. The ending was a big mindfuck.

"This is drugs?"

I still really want to see that movie.
Last night I went to the World Premiere of "Gunless". The cast and crew (writer, director, etc) were all there. It stared Paul Gross, Sienna Guillory, Callum Keith Rennie. and Dustin Milligan. It was so cool to see all the main actors beforehand. Just like at the AFF premiere of Liquor Day (although I wasn't at that theater)
The movie was quite good, with lots of laughs.

Do any of you canadians speak french? I just saw a really cool french movie called A Prophet. It showed how a young Arab man enters jail at 19 and how he slowly rises to power over the course of  six years. It sort of reminded me of the US movie Fresh. Both are sort of chess inspired stories of playing of one side against the other.  Actually Fresh is very chess inspired.

I think the french one may be a few years old but its playing at an arthouse theater here in Austin right now. I don't remember when fresh was made, mid 90's I think.
I recommend both and should mention that Fresh is one of my top 3 all time faves.
Happy viewing.

a little cheeseburger bird told me that "Afghan Luke and The Burgundy of Hash" is gonna be a pretty awesome flick... they just got Lewis Black onboard which is pretty friggin' cool! I knew he was a TPB fan when I spotted him at Bonnaroo wearing a Julian "Think Ricky" tee a couple years back!

Maybe his involvement with this film will lead him to pull some strings with his friend Jon Stewart and get Clatty on The Daily Show... that would be some nice publicity esp. since it is subject matter that relates to the show :P

If any one likes Street Art, check out Exit Through the Gift Shop. Its a very interesting Documentary about not only Street artists, including Banksy, but also the man filming the footage.

Basically this guy follows street artists and films them but he just collects the film and never makes a movie so Banksy takes over to make the movie. It ends up being about the guy doing the filming but you get to see all the documentation of the street artists so its a sort of double documentary.

I thought it was great. I don't know were all it is playing I saw it at one of our art houses and my wife said she read about it in the New Yorker.

I recently watched "I love you Man" with Jason Segel and Paul Rudd. Pretty good movie.  Rush was featured in the story and in concert.

My daughter and I watched that a week ago and I really liked it a lot. Loved the Rush too.

I just went to see Transformers 3 last night (06/29/2011), and it was great...If he never makes another sequel to Transformers, Michael Bay really ended this series on a high note...

If you do see this movie, there are a few surprise guest appearances in the movie that you won't see coming (including one person that my friend had to point out to me because I did not catch him at first) as well as a sci-fi legend playing the leader of the Autobots, again, one hell of a surprise and one hell of a great movie...

THIS IS THE LIFE | Official Trailer

here is the trailer for a documentary my roommate was in. In the 90's he and his partners in the Project Blowed crew revolutionized the underground rap scene.

I saw Pirates of the Caribbean 4: On Stranger Tides last night. It was really enjoyable, more so than parts 2 and 3.

My son and I watched "Insidious" last night. OMFG!  Loved it! I love a movie that scares you and keeps you on the edge of your seat. Not gory slasher movie, but a genuine thriller. Like a wild ride at the amusement park, it was part "Paranormal Activity" part "Poltergeist".

I saw Down the Road Again, the sequel to the classic Goin Down the Road.  Wow, where to begin!  It brought back so many great memories, and seeing those characters again was like catching up with old friends, I really enjoyed the movie!  For those of you that don’t know the first one was about two Cape Bretoners that move to Toronto, so yeah you can see why it would identify with it, but it is also regarded as one of the most important Canadian movies ever made.

Finally got around to watching I Love You, Man - it was fucking terrible, I didn't laugh once! Rush was the only good thing about it.

Yes - I Love You, Man was a piece of garbage. I just saw Real Steel. It was kind of good but really, really good to make fun of, too...if that makes any sense. (I've seen a lot of movies and I know all the cliches.)

I thought that "Tree Of Life" was pretty different and amazing. Also randomly watched "The Edge" with Anthony Hopkins and Alec Baldwin, a relatively unnoticed film from the late 90's, check it: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0119051/
