Hi everyone,

I need your help!  So here's the dealio -   

I'm a third-year student at York University in Toronto, studying media communications and english.  I'm writing an essay on online fandom and cult television, and I'm doing a textual study of the Trailer Park Boys and trailerparkboys.org.  I'm basically looking for members who are willing to take a quick questionnaire based on their participation on this site.  I promise it's quick and easy, and you'll all be famous...at least in my little commuications majors community at my university  :perv1:

I've attached the questionnaire which also has a little disclaimer that explains what I'm doing in much greater detail.  It should only take about 10 minutes for you to fill out, and anyone who takes the time to do it will make my day, week, and possibly year  :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy:

Please feel free to leave any commentsor questions here or e-mail me and I'd be more than happy to discuss things further. 

Once again, I can't thank you guys enough for helping me out.  Like I said in the questionnaire, the only reason I ever thought to write this essay is because I know how friendly and helpful you all are, and it wouldn't be possible otherwise.  Thanks again guys!

Oh yes, I forgot to mention in the post that I'd need responses by March 16th (March 17th and 18th are write-offs, St. Pattys and a hang-over day :D) so anytime up until then would be great if you don't have time to do it in the next few days.

Hmmm...I actually don't think I did Suzie! I got replies from SMG, DAF, Brophy, Refuck, Huntsville_Bubs, and that's it :( I hope I didn't waste your time, especially with looming deadlines!  Please send it again if you saved.

I've been looking over the answers you guys have sent me so far and they're amazingly well written and helpful.  I'm actually looking forward to writing this paper.

Just to bug you some more (I seem to be good at that), can any of you recommend any interviews/articles with Mike C. or Barrie D. that are kicking around regarding the making of the show?

There's a lot of good stuff on video.  As I mentioned in the FAQ thread the documentary Hearts of Dartmouth has a lot of good info.  There's some download info in this thread

Also the DVD extra "A park of our own" on the season 5 DVD.  Also Clattenburg's commentary on the DVDs is a great source of info.

Yep that's no prob, I just copy and pasted it back into ms office and saved it in my ever growing file of questionnaires :D Thanks!

Oh and sgt, your word paper was great but it will probably make more sense after a 6-paper.  I think that's how I'm gonna have to write my essay  :6paper:

I need to keep a mini tape recorder beside my bed because I always seem to get what seem like wicked ideas while lying in bed, then I can't remember jack in the morning.

haha I'm bad for that too Melba.  I keep a journal next to my bed for that reason but either I'm too lazy to turn the light on and just go back to sleep, or I can't find it under the piles of clothes and shit all over my floor.

Just wanted to thank you all again for helping me out and to let you know I offically just finished and printed my 12 page essay on Trailer Park Boys and the .org

It's called "Closer To The Heart: Trailer Park Boys as Cult Television and Online Fandom"
