ALF!! Yess... I still use the Alf bedsheets I got when I was two.  Things in the 80's were so much better made, bedsheets now-a-days don't last a year before they fade or rip.  Those Alf sheets are my prized posession.

MASH is a beating.  BEATING!  If you want your ass whipped, watch some MASH.  MASH was the beginning of the end in my first marriage!

OK now I'm curious how was MASH the beginning of the end in your first marriage?

We were in the Air Force, living on base in Florida.  One day, I'd had a particularly horrible day.  I came home and tried to tell him about it.  He looked at me, held up one finger and said, "Can you wait until MASH is over?"

Bugger.

Gummy Bears, bouncing here and there and everywhere....!

I had Simpsons bedsheets... and a Care Bear quilt... and Cabbage Patch doll wallpaper.

I liked watching Jem.  She was truly outrageous.

Brophy!! I loooove Jem! I'm bringing my Jem Star earrings to wear in Halifax!
Here are some more of my favourites, cartoon & live action:
Fraggle Rock
GI Joe
Thundercats
ALF
M*A*S*H (I agree that some of the Alan Alda direceted & penned episodes are quite preachy, but I love the series in general)
Simpsons (which started in '89 I think)
Kids in the Hall (also started in '89)
SCTV!!
My Little Pony
Press Your Luck (No Whammies!!)
Knight Rider

I'm sure there are tons more as I watched way too much TV as a kid.

I, also liked the WWF in the '80s. I confess to watching Knight Rider a few times on "country cable".
Who's going to start a thread about different era's in TV history?

WWF in the '80s was awesome!! I have tons of WWF trading cards from that era & I love looking at them thinking about the good ole days when the WWF wasn't so greasy. Does anyone else remember the cartoon series, Hulk Hogan's Rockin' Wrestlin'? I found a VHS tape at a store & had to buy it, but the cartoon was soo bad!

Bret "the Hitman" Hart and Shawn Michaels as the pretty boys and people (or creatures like) Mick Foley, Kamala, Abdul The Butcher. I saw both wrestling and roller derby in my home arena when I was a bit younger.
I think Sarah is into the wrestling scene. Might be cool to talk to her about that. Matty's been at a few of those events.

I loved the Ultimate Warrior and watching the Barber Shop.  Who can forget when Shawn Michaels threw Marty Janetti (sp?) through the window? Crazy!

I met Hulk Hogan in 2003 - we stayed at the same hotel in Montreal.  I thought there would be some tank top ripping... I was somewhat disappointed... although he helped me with my ice bucket.

Fraggle Rock! I loved that too... and Inspector Gadget... my boyfriend had a Gobo doll he took everywhere, I was more of a Care Bear girl... he is still in my closet :)

This thread makes me all happy.

When was Baywatch? Wait that was the early 90'ies I think...I used to watch that show on mute because it made me feel funny in the pants.

See that is why you should always have a tape in your VCR ready to record on a moment’s notice.

M*A*S*H (I agree that some of the Alan Alda direceted & penned episodes are quite preachy, but I love the series in general)

Preachy that is being too kind.  Two words I’d use would be lame and hackneyed.  Sure the show had some redeeming qualities though, I loved the Frank Burns character.

I liked Alf as well.

Mr. Belvedere was another one I watched, anyone else like that?

My Good Luck Bear (whom I called Green Teddy) is in my closet here, at my apartment... and I sleep with him ... on occasion... If I have a bad day....

Embarassing to admit for a 26 year old lol.  Oh well :)

I loved the Fraggles... that song is in my head... the bf is playing it on the guitar for me :)

I thought I'd though (edit: throw  :-s) a bit of eighties Australiana into the mix..

I think it's reasonably self explainatory..

How could I forget Degrassi? I didn't watch it during the 80s, but when it was replayed in the 90s but it should still count.

Brophy, my Good Luck Bear is still on my headboard! Plus there's a Strawberry Shortcake on the shelf above my bed.
OD, I still have my ALF doll too! My best friend had a talking ALF, which was cool, until we ripped the voice box out.  :?

Here's some more:
Smurfs
My Little Pony
He-Man
She-Ra

You know what would be cool? If we started some 80s TV trivia in this thread. Here's a pretty easy one to start off:
What was the name of Gargamel's cat on the Smurfs?
'Do I look absolutely divine and regal, and yet at the same time very pretty and rather accessible?' - Queenie, Black Adder
