Sled goes....BOOM!
« on: Feb 25, 2007, 10:56 PM »
Well went for a ride today..... Started out on my sled...came home by truck!
Was flying across the lake doing about 115 km/h when all of a sudden....nothing....not a noise, no smoke, just a very anti-climactic NOTHING.  Motor running, sled coasting to a stop, push the throttle, motor revs, sled no go.
So I figure, shit, I guess I blew a belt.  Shut the sled off, open the hood, belt is intact.
Hubby figures I either blew the chain or the jack shaft.  He ended up towing me the rest of the way across the lake to the marina where I sat and waited for him and his friend to return to town and come back for me with the truck!
This sled has been a piece of shit from the get go....although this is the first problem i have had with it so far this season...it spent a lot of time in the shop last winter.  Good thing it is under warranty.  Only 1400 km on the friggin thing too!

I have no idea where the oil came from, but hopefully it won't be out of comission too long.
My God...what a drunk horror show!

Sorry to hear about your sled's breakdown HB :(.  At least ya didn't have to walk home right?  Hope you're back on the trails soon :).
