What is there to do in Vancouver Sept. 21 - 23?
« on: Sep 15, 2007, 03:32 PM »
The Facking show is cancelled!!!!!!  Does anyone know of anything that is going on Sept. 21-23?  I've been to Vancouver a couple of times but I don't really know my way around.  We're going to see Mr. Show on Saturday but would like a few ideas on things to do the rest of the time.  Any ideas you could give would be appreciated.   :6paper:

No he means the Sept 22nd show in Richmond B.C. is canceled. Not the TV show or the special. He bought tickets to do see the show and it was canceled on his ass. There was a thread about the show in Richmond here.

Shit maching gun you are right. Ok, I went to the Global Comedy Fest link to see info on the show and there was nothing about it being canceled, BUT they had a MySpace link on the page(on the left) so I clicked on it and it gives the Global Vancouver Comedy Fest info and phone number, so I called and the girl that answered the phone said it had been canceled, and I asked why and she tells me that in interferes with their filming schedule, soooo that means they are filming.

Here's the link: http://comedyfest.com/shows/66

Here's the myspace link which gives the telephone number:http://www.myspace.com/vancouvercomedyfest

The girl on the phone was upset too cause she really wanted to meet them - I hear ya babe, so do I.

I changed the title of the thread from TPB show cancelled to "What is there to do in Vancouver Sept. 21 - 23?", so as to avoid undue panic and confusion :)

I visited Vancouver in June (first trip to Canada!). Great city. You can eat in that revolving restaurant at harbour bay (not really expensive given that you save the price of the ticket to go to the observation tower); go to English Bay and hire a boat, go to the mountains; get the ferry to Vancouver Island and visit Victoria etc. Gas Town's a real scam if you ask me (ha, ha), but Marc Emery's shop is just around the corner-so you can get stoned and float around for the rest of the day if you like :D

Was really quite shocked by the number of homeless people in the city, but I suppose it's a magnet for people from all over the country. Loved the people-very friendly place. Victoria was a bit too 'British' for me though  :D

I was there in February for 2 days.  We managed to get to Stanley Park which was gorgeous in the middle of winter, I can just imagine what it looks like now  :D  Also check out the aqarium if you're into cute shit like I am :)
If you're short on cash, just walking on Robson or over to Granville island is interesting, lots of window shopping.
And if you're looking to avoid the bums and crack heads, steer clear of gastown/chinatown at all costs!

Forgot about Stanley Park! Oh dear. Beautiful place. And yes, second the aquarium (in the park)-the Beluga Whales are worth the ticket price alone. You can't avoid the rough area altogether if you want to visit Marc Emery's shop. I didn't find people a problem, but I was there in the middle of the afternoon-imagine it's a different proposition at night.
