« on: Feb 09, 2007, 05:02 PM »
Hi

I just saw the movie and does anyone anyone know what the song is that plays while Ricky, Julian and Bubbles enter the 'Gentlemen's Club' for the first time?  Its not on the soundtrack and I cant find out who it's by.

The song is "It doesn't really matter" by Platinum Blonde

I suppose I should add this to the FAQ thread

We might as well keep going while we’re here, I'm sure others would like to know...

What are the other songs in the movie that did not make it on to the soundtrack CD.

It’s been a while since I’ve seen the movie, the first two that come to mind are…

Heavy Metal Love – Helix (for Lucy)

38 Years Old – The Tragically Hip (when the boys are in prison)

I know there’s more, even some more Hip songs.  Does anyone else know of others?

Keeping in mind that the songs that ARE on the soundtrack are

* Big Dirty Drums
* The Big Dirty Band — "I Fought The Law"
* Rush — "The Spirit Of Radio"
* J-Roc — "Trailer Park Life"
* Credulence
* Alexisonfire — "Sweet Leaf"
* Rough Trade — "All Touch"
* Shithawks
* April Wine — "I'm On Fire For You Baby"
* The Tragically Hip — "Bobcaygeon"
* Wintersleep — "Orca"
* Swollen Members — "Swamp Water"
* Ricky's Day In Court
* Bubbles & The Shit Rockers — "Liquor & Whores"

For more info on the soundtrack check here…

"Scared" by the Tragically Hip also plays in the movie. Its during the scene when Ricky gets the lap dance from Lucy in the VIP area.

Heh. Priceless how I spent an hour today trying to figure out what the name of the song and band is that was playing during the gentlemans club scene. I eventually found out who it was and everything, but I should have been smart enough to refer to the orgsters first. =p

I have that platinum blonde song on my comp in 160kb/s if anyone wants to download it. Hit me up on AIM. I'm just sitting around bored. AIM = UltimoGuitarist

BTW, anyone know the name of the song thats playing when it was showing that chick that Julian was with, during the time when she was walking away and it was showing her up close etc.

If you are talking about the same scene I am thinking of, in the strip bar where Wanda first speaks, they play "All Touch" by Rough Trade.  That song did make the soundtrack, good thing as it is a great song.  In that scene they show her up close then she walks away, is that what you are talking about?

No problem.  Rough Trade were best known for their song "Highschool Confidential".  Anyone who has never heard that song should check it out, they are in for a treat :)

Ok so I just listened to the commentary and I found some more songs that aren’t on the soundtrack that I’d either forgotten about or hadn’t noticed the first 2 times I saw the movie.

Things I do for Money – The Northern Pikes – the parking meter scene.  Clattenburg mentioned they had to just play the instrumental version because the lyrics were so compelling, he didn’t want to distract the viewers from the movie.

Pork Salad Annie – Dutch Mason

Be I ( Bed-A-Bye-Bo) – Rick Jeffery .   Just like in the show he featured music by Mason and Jeffery, more about that can be found in the FAQ thread.

Temptation – The Tea Party – Around the end, again just an instrumental version.

The second song that plays during the ending credits, after Bobcaygeon is Well on Your Way – The Hugh Dillion Redemption Choir.  Hugh played Sonny and was the lead singer with The Headstones.

Of course you can get the complete list at the end of the movie credits.

Great stuff, I really think that 'doesn't really matter' song should have been on the soundtrack, I had to go make my own cd with the songs that never made the cut on the sountrack cd because i thought most of them were great......

If anyone wants to see the Music video for It doesn't really matter it is at

http://ca.music.yahoo.com/video/2167615

It is kind of freaky. but makes the song a little more understandable

I actually like to chase down old music video's if they have been made to songs I hear
