There's a couple topics about Christmas decorations and the like, but there's no topics about what everyones actually got planned for Christmas! So what's everyone doin?

I'm heading home for the weekend and Christmas day, which will be a big treat seeing as this is my first year out of the house and I havn't seen my dad or brothers in about two or three months. Other than that though it'll probably be just a regular old Christmas...big seafood dinner Christmas eve, then presents and turkey dinner Christmas day.

Merry Christmas everyone!

I thought about starting a topic like this too.
I'm going to Disney for 10 days with my family. First time for Christmas without snow.
I want to have Sarge pick me up in her ultralite and wisk me over to AZ for a day.
Please Santa,

Plans for my family are still up in thei air & are dependant upon if my uncle decides to travel from Ottawa to Hamilton or not; if he doesn't make it, dinner's at my place for the first time ever; if he does, dinner is at my grandmother's. But I won't be going out, I have never ever been able to stay in my own home for Christmas dinner, & I am determined to this year, so I might be eating rice for Christmas dinner all by my lonesome.

P.S. Fishy, I think the Florida one is 'World'

Be sure to take Conky with you Fishy. Then feed that bastard to the gators they have down there.

As for me I am just going over to my parents house on Christmas Day or maybe it will be X-mas eve this year. Hopefully both of my sisters will be there as well.

My wife's family is coming on Wednesday and staying until the 27th.  I'll be cooking a 22lb bird on Xmas day.  We've also invited a few people who can't get home for Christmas to spend the day with us.

Boxing day I host my 3rd annual poker day and sandwich festival to clean up leftovers.  Should get about 25 people here for that.

Off work from this Thursday until the 3rd of January.  Be spending time with my daughter and hopefully teaching her how to skate.  Bought her little pink skates for Xmas.  It better get cold soon, and snow too.

Merry Christmas all.

Jdub, too bad your brother has to work on Christmas day as well, what kind of work does he do? I thought it was bad enough that I have to work Christmas Eve & Boxing Day, nevermind actually working on Christmas!

He's a tow truck driver.  He just changed owners (truck owners) so I guess he doesn't have seniority.  Booooo!    Oh well, we'll just have xmas a day later....I'm sure baby Jesus won't mind...heehee  ;) :)

I am having Christmas Eve dinner here with a few family members but I am kinda behind schedule because our power was out for almost 4 days, and I didn't get even half of the things done I needed to do.  Not sure what we are doing for Christmas, probably just relax at home alone with hubby :)

We're doin' christmas in the sun this year for the first time.  Leaving for Jamacia on the 21st and back on the 28th.  Lots of sun, :drunk:, and  :6paper: to be had over the holiday for me :).  We're doin' the Niagara Falls thing for New Years this year as well - always been house parties etc before.  This year 5 couples bought packages for NYE and we're gonna ring in the new year in style.  Also, I'm hoping spendin $$$ on an event puts pressure on me to actually remember new years eve this year ;).

Wife has to work xmas eve. She works at a seniors care center. She's taking the kids to see the old folks on xmas day to visit and give them cards. They outta love that. Having my dad and her mom over for xmas day. Plan to get rip roarin wrecked . Boxing day we are heading to Edmonton to see the wifes brother and family. That should be about as fun as going to the dentist. His wife is hard core Catholic so she doesn't think much of me and my sense of humour.

I am taking a week of work (yay). Im off from the 22nd to the 2nd. Can't wait! We are having xmas here in Halifax (me and the bf). His folks are in Dartmouth so we will probably hook up with them on Xmas day for dinner.  Then we go home to Cape Breton to see my family on Boxing Day... pick up my 15 year old little brother and take him to the city til the 30th (he loves visiting his "cool" sister). Then party with the crew NYE.  I am thinking of having my closest friends over for dinner sometime after NY - I'm going to cook a turkey.. all by myself.. I chose to do it after christmas because if I screw it up they wont be super disappointed as they have had turkey a few times already (ha). Ill hit the wine then try and stuff the bird.  Should be a great time.  Glad to hear everyone has plans lined up with their family and friends. DAF & Fishy - enjoy your holidays away!
Hugs,
CB

Good luck with the turkey Broph.  Martha stewart has a recipe I use every year for the bird.  Put a cheesecloth soaked in white wine and melted butter over the top and cook it that way, basting every half hour.  You take the cloth off with about an hour to go and keep basting.  The cloth looks good enough to eat but the skin looks just as good.  golden brown and the turkey stays moist.

eh chrismas at home with the family, ive celebrated last 3-4 new years with a gang of friends at a couples place who now split up last summer. Not sure where to go yet, thinking about maybe going to london if time and money can afford it. Otherwise im not sure if ill end up doing much, most partys here seem kind of crap to me now and the urge to drive to another town on new years has been long gone...

Pretty much the same Christmas plans as every other year...
Christmas eve with the husband's family and Christmas day with my family. We've recently moved closer to all our family. We're now a mere 2 and a half hours from my husband's family and a stone's throw away from mine.

The in-laws are trying a White Elephant gift exchange for the first time in family history. Should be interesting.

THE GAME:
1. Each guest who wishes to participate must contribute a gift. Everyone sits or stands in roughly a circle around the pile of gifts.
2. Prepare slips of paper equal to the number of gifts with clearly written numbers. Be sure to distinguish 6 from 9, 1 from 7. Each participating guest draws a number and holds onto that slip of paper.
3. On the first turn, the guest with paper slip #1 chooses a gift, opens it, and all admire it.
4. On the second turn, the guest with paper slip #2 gets the choice of "stealing" any unwrapped gift (#1's) or choosing a wrapped one. If #2 steals #1's gift, then #1 must open a wrapped gift.
5. On the third turn, the guest with paper slip #3 gets the choice of "stealing" any unwrapped gift (#1's or #2's) or choosing a wrapped one.

The game continues based on the following:
1. If a gift is stolen from you, you can steal a gift (within limits, described below), or open a wrapped one.
2. The turn proceeds until a wrapped gift is chosen.
3. A gift cannot be immediately stolen back from the guest who just stole it.
4. The fourth "owner" of a gift gets to keep it. The gift is "dead" after it has been stolen three times.
5. "Owners" of "live" gifts must keep them visible and hold them up when requested.
6. The gift exchange ends when the last wrapped gift is opened. Usually, guests are encouraged to perpetuate the gift stealing as long as there are "live" gifts, but no one is obligated to do this.

For my family, I threw out the idea of grazing on appetizers and desserts rather than going through the stress and strain of a traditional Christmas meal. Yay, no leftovers.  :)

Good luck DD, I've seen those gift stealing games turn ugly.  I contributed to the ugliness once by being a bit too bitter about having my gift stolen once at a work party.  Good thing I don't work there anymore.

The Office Season 2 Christmas party w/ the IPOD.
We did that a few years ago with some friends.  I bought a candy cane vibrator at SanDiego store.  It was stolen a few times.
