Well since you are still looking for input and mentioned you are unsure, don't forget that not getting one is still an option.  There are lots of fun things to do in Montreal besides sit in a tattoo shop.

Ha.. thanks D.. not quite "me" though.  I am home and I didnt get a tattoo... the more I thought about it, the more I didnt want to get one in a city where I had no idea of the reputation of the tattoo places... so.. I am tattooless still :) Ill get one here in Halifax.... Ill have to check with some of the locals to see where to go.

Thanks for all the input though, Shake - you were right :)

Cool Brophy, if you still aren't sure about it why bother, there's no law that says you need a tattoo.  At least I don't think there is.

I'm with Shake on this one. I know a number of people that got tatoos and five or ten years down the road hated them. Pain in the ass to get rid of them.

Our friend , who has tattooed many in our familly , is recently divorced. He and his ex are having their wedding "rings" removed by laser treatment !  .....ouch !!

uh yeah that's a big ouch ... my boyfriend is getting the one's on the palm of his hands, on his knuckles and tops of his hands removed and even just thinking about it makes me cringe (not too mention the cost of getting them removed - BIG ouch!) but even after all that he'll still have enough for the both of us! I always say I'm going to get one but never do and so far I'm glad I haven't found anything that I'd want on my body for the rest of my life. Those embedded tattoo's really freak me out too!

I come up with ideas for a tattoo then three weeks later I change my mind...

I nearly had a star and crescent moon tattoo on my arm in Daytona Beach once, I was so drunk and bored there was nothing else to do. Fortunately I sobered up pretty quick when I saw the needles.

Ive got 9, I think.....anyways, what you should get is something that has true meaning to you.  Something that 20 years down the road you regret having.. I am always interested in peoples tattoos that have stories behind them.........doesnt matter if its shitty looking or not.  If it has something with a good story behind it, thats what matters.  I am big into ancient egyptian civilization and have numerous egyptian tattoos (3 are heiroglyphs).  You can barely make it out on my picture on the left, but I have a tribal armband, and its probably my LEAST favorite because it doesnt really mean anything.

For a start don't something on a whim, spend some serious time deciding what you want... find or draw something you want and stick it up somewhere where you can see it all the time because after a week if you are sick of looking at it imagine how stoked you will be that you didn't get it inked!

I've had about 12+ hours of work done over the years, in fact I have an appointment for tommorrow to get some work done!

Haha I actually know someone with that tattooed on their arm!
