It would be cool to be bi-lingual. I was thinking about Djet and his ability to speak different languages and wondered which would be the best second language to have.
We'll leave Esperanto out of the equation :)

I used to be bilingual. French/Anglaise.

But according this chart,if correct, we should all be learning Mandarin!

I found a idiots guide to learning french and I've been reading it to catch back up on the language.  It be nice to have my daughter be bilingual early on in life.

I think the mandarin might be a tad bit much for my brain.

I recently bought a CD & book course to brush up on French (ok, relearn); I've taken one year of German (which is much more difficult than French) & one year of Old English (which I thought would be a bird course, but was nastily surprised to learn that Old English is similar to German).
I want to be fluent in French so that when I go to Europe I won't be too intimidated to visit Paris.

I'm an idiot, but my wife and daughter are frickin' geniuses. My wife is fluent in Danish, German and English. She can carry on basic conversations in Swedish and Norwegian. My daughter speaks Danish and English and can switch between the two, depending on who she's talking to.

Most people in Europe, with the exception of some Germans and French, are bilingual. English, while it's not the most widely spoken language in the world, is the the most universal.

I'm trying to learn Danish, but the course I'm in isn't geared toward beginners(read as Morons)and this may be what determines how long I stay in Denmark. In order to get my permanenet residency permit I have to speak, read and write Danish at an 8th grade level.
