I have seen to many great shows to list them in any kind of order.
(I have two photo albums with just my ticket stubbs,  not including many stubbs from the middle '80's where I lost them)

Probabaly one of my top 5 would be PRINCE on his LOVESEXY tour,  in 1988 at MLG,  we had front row and it was to put it in words everybody could understan "A religous Experience"
"Jack never even took one step of his own ....yet he traveled so far".

Letter's to my little boy Jack

For large venue...U2{Joshua Tree Tour 1987}..Damm they put on a great show!

Small Venue....saw Jann Arden couple of years back at the QE...best show I've seen in years...She had the VSO backing her and the band up.I don't know what was better..the music or her little musings and asides in between songs..she is one funny lady!

Cheers!

I've been to 2, but by far THEbest one was the Rolling Stones "Sarsstock" last summer, I was so close. I wish I had really liked AC DC at the time But if it wasn't for the concert I wouldn't of liked AC DC

Ahh you've never heard of most of mine.  But I'd say the very best was seeing Nitzer Ebb open for Depeche Mode on the Violater tour (come on you guys, I know at least one of you knows "Personal Jesus" -it and "Enjoy the Silence" charted in the top 40 in the US back in 1990)
Oh, and the first five Lollapaloozas.  The first was the best.  The tours are more famous than the participating bands though, which I find hilarious...
--Suffice it to say that I've seen hundreds, nay thousands, of shows by terrifically talented people that most of you will never ever hear of.  Einsturnzende Neubauten was incredible in town a couple months ago for instance.  Try to pronounce it, I dare you.  Germans, heh.

I would agree with DVS, that the best concert I've been too was the Sarstock in T.O. Not necessarily for the talent that was there, but just the sheer magnitude of it, there were SO MANY people there. I too am not the biggest fan of AC/DC, but man did they ever rock that place. We left after the Stones started to play; we were tired, don't really like the Stones, and we wanted to get a head start getting the hell out of there.

5 TIMES!!!! Holy shit man I would give anything to see them just one more time. If I only knew that the shows at the Grand Olympic Auditorium were their last, I would have gone to Cali just to see them. At least I saw them once tho, and I'll never forget that. When they turned the lights on at the end of Killing In The Name, the whole place was going fucking nuts. That was so awesome.

RATM would have been a kick ass show.  I have never seen them but I did see Tool a few years ago.  They put on an amazing live show.

Stevie Ray Vaughan...shit could that man play a guitar...Got to see him twice, once in Sydney, NS and then the following year in Halifax, not long before he was killed.

Ohhh and The Cult...awesome.

Lets not mention the countless times I have seen Blue Rodeo... these guys just put on a great rockin' show.
My God...what a drunk horror show!

Supertramp, at the Halifax Forum - 1975?!?!
Bruce Cockburn, at the Rebbecca Cohn Auditorium (Dalhousie University, 1990?).
I Mother Earth, not sure of the name of the venue, but located on Brunswick street, Halifax, NS. (1996?).
UZEB, Zapata's Halifax, NS. (time frame - early to mid 1980's).

Also, Tony Bennett, Loreena McKennitt, and Manteca, all separate dates, but at my favourite venue - the [aforementioned] Rebecca Cohn, because the acoustics are superior to sports and other venues.

As I was talking   about "PRINCE" earlier,  I have  come accross his "Rider" for the "Musicology" tour.

For those of you that don't know,  a "Rider" is a list of things that the "Artist"requires at the venue that they are performing at.

Here's the link:

http://www.thesmokinggun.com/backstagetour/prince/prince1.html

Here's also the link for the mail page with more "Riders",  some of the things these people demand are out of this world!

Anybody here heard of a band called Wilco?  We're wondering what our set of all access backstage passes will go for on eBay (good for the entire tour which is just beginning, kickbacks from the MoogMusic job once again) -I figure someone could really have a blast with laminated all access VIP tags for them and their date.  We weren't interested because the venue they played here didn't have a bar, lol...

I've been listening to "Wilco" for years. They use to be more "Roots Rock",  then they changed there style a bit on the last album.

I originally started listening to Jeff Tweedy's first group "Uncle Tupelo",  then when they broke up he formed "Wilco" and Jay Farrer formed "Son Volt".
I have actually seen both "Son Volt" and "Wilco"  live before.

As A seller on eBay I would say that you could get a few bucks  for the laminants:)

I'm not sure if Neubauten would be considered metal or any other genre.  They do take chainsaws to metal and record it though, and their singer, Blixa Bargeld, is one of the sexiest things ever to don a pair of leather pants.

EINSTURZENDE NEUBAUTEN   are more Industrial than Metal. I seen them live earlier this year in Vancouver.
I think back in the 80's besides Cabaret Voltaire and Throbbing Gristle,   EINSTURZENDE NEUBAUTEN were my fave industrial bands. When we heard they were touring we jumped at the chance to see them again(It had been many years).
