It seems I see more and more new names registered each day, but mostly the same regulars post... I hope the introductions tree isn't too much for the shy ones!  I like a bit of stealth now and then myself, but- *ahem*

Oh well this probably wouldn't ever work anyway.  But I am considering Glenda there as next weeks avatar... you know, for people who don't know if I'm a good Witch-Ho or a bad Witch-Ho

Yeah, it's been nice to see more people registering, but I too would like to hear something.. anything.. from some of our newly registered comrades. I feel like we're providing the entertainment for masses, but the masses don't have thoughts or opinions :(

I have a message board, and the same thing happens. People register and never post a thing. I'm not sure why, I don't register anywhere unless I plan on posting first!

i have occasionally received very late night PMs from some of these registered but non-posting newbies.(posts "0")
mostly sounds like the same person just checking to see if a mod is on the board.

Sorry, maybe I'm dense, but what do you mean??? What do the messages say? What's the purpose?

I've been a registered member for over a year now and my post count doesn't show worth shit.  I enjoy reading the threads but there are only certain topics that I wish to share my comments on.  I don't reply to threads 'just for the sake of replying.'

I'm sure some of these so-called lurkers are in the same boat as me.  Just a thought.........

I've definately seen you around Scientist, I'm just wondering about the names (some of which are quite creative) that I see get registered and never see again.  But its true that there's probably a lot of people who get amusement from just reading updates without actually saying anything.

Come out little munchkins!

--Ahh whatever.   Maybe I should be Glenda from Ed Wood's Glen or Glenda instead of the Good Witch anyway...

I hear exactly what you're saying. I did the same on Showcase for a while, because I never really had anything to contribute, or at least didn't feel what I had to contribute was worthy of posting.

I'm not trying to force anyone to post against their will, just offering the suggestion that if they enjoy reading some of these posts, they might like to join in, and have their say. We don't bite.. hard :)

I just know seeing a bunch of people who seem to know each other talking, and having high post counts may be a little intimidating for newcomers. And don't want them to feel unwelcome just because there's a group of us who know each other a little better than others :)  Just want everyone to feel welcome that's all :)

It would probably be better to PM this sort of thing. GES is here, I'm sure(and so he sez). Late at night I get the same nothing little one sentence posts from recently registered "members" who never actually post. I always welcome them(him) to the board, but feel trollish vibes. Perhaps GES just wants to see if a mod is really awake and on the job?

Ah you've been doing great!  Hell I'm no regular, I just waltzed in a month or two ago and started blowing my mouth of about anything and everything in typical Witch-Ho fashion- I find that it fools people into thinking you're a regular in just a week or two.     I think picture posting is the best possible icebreaker, and no it doesn't have to be pics of you if you're shy- adding funny things to the links section is good for getting people to relax too.  Honestly this is a very laid back board to enter, I've been to a couple where introducing yourself is like bowing before Torquemada and the Inquisition.  'Who are you?!  Where is the proof?!  WHere are your papers?!"
Trust me TPB isn't the only troll plagued forum(s), they all go through this.
