Evolution, for the obvious reasons. Which raises another question. Are we, and other living things, still evolving?

Of course we are... I only had two wisdom teeth.  Some have four, some have none...

Hey me too! My dad was the same as well. My Sis and Mom both still had all 4. My Dad and I used to bug them and say how much more "evolved" we were than them!

Evolution, for the obvious reasons. Which raises another question. Are we, and other living things, still evolving?

I would say no.  I don't believe that we were originally apes than gradually evolved into human beings.  If we were at one time apes why haven't we evolved into the next phase?  Because that could take millions of years?.....how do you know that we've been around for millions of years?  That's just what scientists say.  Doesn't necessarily mean it's true.  I know it's hard to believe in something that you can't see.  There's alot of things in the Bible that may seem highly unrealistic but there are also things that do make a lot of sense in the Bible.  That ape theory thing also seems a tad bit unrealistic to me too.

You ask: "how do we know that we've been around for millions of years".I would answer....."because science tells us so." Conversely I could ask you: " How do you know we haven't been around for millions of years",  and you might perhaps answer: "Because the Bible tells me so.

Evolutionist use scientific theory to back themselves up, Creasionists use religeous theory to back themselves up. Perhaps the answer lies somewhere in the middle.

Deepak Chopra believes that both can co-exist. He likened it to a flower. Science and Religon are the petals that surround the unknowable in the middle.{he put it far more elequently than that}

Of course that brings up the whole spector of "Intelligent design"....and that's a whole nother angle to this.

Cheers!

I like this quote a whole lot too!
Brandt: You never went to college...

The Dude: Oh, no I did, but I spent most of my time occupying various administration buildings... smoking a lot of thai stick... breaking into the ROTC... and bowling. To tell you the truth Brandt, I don't remember most of it.

I went with "other, please explain". My experience tells me that this is an intelligent universe - full of "god" - every spinning sub-particle going about its intelligent, godly business. There is no centralized, exclusive master-god-thingy, IT is us and every one and thing everywhere at once, all striving for more of everything forever together.

HH69

I don't think you have anything to worry about HH,  usually the killing thing is the the other way around..........."here kitty kitty".....*lions roaring*......

People shouldn't be persecuted for their personal choice but unfortunately it happens.....

I heard someone quote someone who said  "I would rather believe in God/Heaven and discover in the end there isn't one, then to not believe and then discover in the end that there IS one."

It's not a verbatim quote, but you get the gist....ha ha......it's all how you look at it I guess.  To each his/her own........cheers!

I ticked "don't believe in anything" because if man can't figure out where we are going and how to get there.............how the fuck does
man know how we got here ???

I believe in evolution. Leave the apes alone for a moment. Just look at the household dog or cat then look at us: two eyes, brain, nose, four limbs, teeth, lungs, hair, toe and fingernails, blood, liver, kidneys etc etc etc. IMO we're all related.
