NEEM oil insecticide

So, I've been told that Neem oil is the best thing for stopping a spider mite invasion, especially if you don't feel like inviting thousands of ladybugs into your home... Does anyone else know of it, and why it makes me so damn dizzy when I use it?  I think I must be supersensitive or something.  Any other horvicultural suggestions for how to get rid of these little nightmare spider mites?

I use soapy water here, not with detergent, just old fashoned soapy water. Good for spyder mites, earwigs, anything annoying and it actually doesn't mess with your plants.

i've definately heard that neem oil works the best, but like DVE said, soap & water works well also.

from another forum:

"AVID (abermectin) is your surest kill for spider mites. That is a choice you must make. It has specific food crops that it is approved for use but Cannabis is not one of them.  I have had spider mites at 3 separate occasions in the past 2 years. I caught them early and doused them with Avid. They all die."

&

"I found out that the mites go dormant if the photoperiod drops to 12 hours or less for a few days and the temps also drop during that period (signalling winter is coming). Once they go dormant it takes them at least a month to reawaken. But get this, if the temps dont suddenly rise after that month, then they will think it is still winter, even if its 85  So I dropped my temps to 70, switched to 11/13, and bumped my CO2 to 5000 for 3 days, no more spider mites  BTW the plants absolutely LOVED the 5000, its just a bit expensive to maintain, maybe when I finish completely sealing the room. Oh, and you could go higher I think, but 5000 is the OSHA maximum safe exposure limit for humans."

you might want to browse http://www.overgrow.com/growfaq/browse.php?topic=57 as well :)

or find 2 dopes to find a shitload of lady bugs for ya :)

Hey neat cat-dog, I'd heard of Avid but the second part sounds like a mighty pretty trick indeed... We'll see what can be done (after the flood cleanup- at least the garden was safe I hear the outdoor ones were hammered flat)
