My 2 cents worth :What if the guy is innocent? Isn't "innocent until proven guilty" the cornerstone of our system of justice. I imagine a lot of innocent people get smeared by the press and police long before they've had their day in court. This guy has already lost his gig with the beer company, and he ain't even seen the inside of a courtroom. I wonder if there is any system where the accused's identity is protected until he/she is found guilty? T'would be better, IMHO.

I'm glad to see those ads go, but not under these circumstances. Pornography involving 1 year old children!? Lord, help us. Who finds that erotic? Was it Sigmund Freud who said the only abhorrent sexual thought is the absence of it? If so I don't know where he pulled that from. Having sex with children is abhorrent.

from the sound of it, you've never been accused of anything BB! Last time the cops rounded me up for something they just fuckin assume you did it and treat you like a common criminal til you get your day in court.. then after the thing gets thrown out, you don't even get an apology!!! I was in the US until last night and didn't hear about this until I heard it on a morning radio show today. If the found kiddie porn on his computer he deserves what he gets from both a criminal prospective AND in the public eye. As yourself, in this case is the system at fault or is it the media and the public's tendancy to forget he is only "charged" but not convicted of this offence yet?

I agree with you gals, Ms.Vee and Jdub. A very odd thing to say! I'm so disappointed with this story, cause I loved those commercials. Funny thing, is that in the pic they showed in the Chronicle Herald (Halifax) he was actually a good looking guy, probably could've had any woman he wanted. If only the mind would've been as attractive. Child porn just rots my gut, infurates me, those poor kids.

Hopefully soon , the federal government will raise that age to 16......

The age of consent in Canada is currently 14 years old!? My God, where have I been? I would have bet money on 16 years old. A 14-year old has no business having sex. Hell, a 16-year old has no business having sex. A child is too young at that age, and no one is going to convince me otherwise. Mind you, it's not as if changing the age is going to stop anything. We'll just be able to charge more people with statutory rape.

well , a 14 or 16 year old has no business having sex with an adult , or I should say an adult has no business having sex with them, but a 16 year old should be able to have sex with another 16 year old . The proposed new legislation addresses this and will have a clause for parteners who are close in age.
