If you wanna see some up & coming bands, check out the Battle of the Bands at Big Leagues Pub in Dartmouth on April 13. These are the semi-finals, and my own band, Bedrock, will be playing, too.

The bands offer a real mix of styles: heavy rock, blues, punk, goth. Should be cool. See you there. We may even do "Don't pay the Ferryman" by Chris de Burgh.

I thought I'd share an album from one of my favourite bands as I cant see any one in Canada having heard of them.
They split up a few years back after a 8 year spell and after being banned from every venue here in the UK lol.

This isnt copyrighted.
The Macc Lads = Beer N Sex N Chips and Gravy

Genre= Ramones,Pistols covers and original tracks with lyrics changed to amuse.
Link here  http://www.megaupload.com/?d=ZZ8BLMRQ

Anyone enjoys it which I think they might its very similar to some trailer park humour give me a shout I'll upload more.
Great music to get drunk to ;)

You can find the lyrics here http://www.macclads.co.uk/hectic_house/lyrics/w_ind.html
Warning do not download this if easily offended!
I was reading an article on heavy drinking this morning,it scared the shit out of me!!
So I've finally decided no more F'kin reading from now on ;)

I moved to the east coast of the U.S. in 1976. Baltimore, Maryland, yo. From Columbus, Ohio to B.M. I was suddenly thrust into a tough, New York-like environment and survived by escaping into the best, progressive, rocking music I could find. Of course there was my saviour RUSH, but there were other mind-blowing bands like Crack The Sky (coincidently from the east coast) who assisted in shaping my teen-aged years. Here are a few songs to download. If you likey, I'll post all I have.

For those of you metal heads who like Iron Maiden, older Metallica, Ozzy, here is a band for you... Black Tide. Makes me want to grow a mullet and punch someone in the face for no reason whatsoever! The thing is... They are a bunch of kids!!!! Hopefully they don't O.D, or puberty hits them too hard, because they are going to go places!!!

Some of their songs that have caught my ear so far "Light from Above" "Show me the Way" & "Warriors of Time"

Oh yeah and I forgot to mention it still doesn't explain what the album was doing in the country section, because it ain't country music.  I guess it is only there because that is where they usually categorize Krauss.

I posted this before in the what are you listening to but I reckon it fits here as well

City and Colour (Dallas Green - get it :))  I got his latest CD for Christmas, I'm really liking it.  I love this song, Sleeping Sickness, the great <- Gord Downie drops in and sings a verse.  He also appears in the video, but he's just sort of laying down on the job.

Another great song/video from that CD Starts out slow but picks up a bit, I especially like it when the back up singers kick in

i *heart* zappa pushers!

Me too. Still not sure about Captain Beefheart though...

Other bands I bore people about:
Pavement (I'm a Pavement Pusher!)
Fu Manchu
Flaming Lips
Janis Joplin (especially Cheap Thrills and Kozmic Blues)

I must check out Julie Doiron's latest stuff too, Eric's Trip were pretty good.
