Hows the weather?

CLEVELAND, Ohio: - A winter weather advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service starting at noon on Thursday. The advisory for snow will remain in effect until 10:00 am Friday.

A lake effect snow watch has also been issued beginning Friday morning and ending Saturday morning.

According to the National Weather Service patchy light freezing drizzle may occur overnight from Wednesday to Thursday, developing some slick spots on roads and sidewalks.

Snow will develop by early Thursday afternoon and continue into Friday morning before lake effect type snow showers kick in.

Fox 8 Meteorologist Scott Sabol says Thursday snow will be caused by a cold front that could drop up to 4 inches in some locations before the Lake Effect snow falls. Cities more toward the extreme south of the Fox 8 News viewing area, such as Mansfield, will actually see the most snow from this particular storm.

By daybreak Saturday some locations in the watch area could have a total storm accumulation of a foot of snow. The wind direction will determine which locations will get the heaviest lake effect snow.

Ah, the benefits of living by one of the Great Lakes. At this rate, we'll surpass xhippie's snow fall in a day or so.  I have a friend that lives further east of me and they got just about 3 FEET of snow, in the last round that JUST ended today. I can't imagine them getting an additional foot of snow. YIKES! We live very close to everything; school, stores...it's not a huge deal for us except that when it is windy, the damn power goes out.

It's been a rather pleasant day here for mid-January, after a wet and briefly windy weekend.  We have missed all of the extensive cold weather a majority of the country is going/has gone through.

The three weeks of nice weather we've enjoyed have given way to torrential downpours.  We got an inch and a half of rain this afternoon and it looks like we may get up to eight inches of rain through this week.

We finally broke out of the arctic blast after 12 days below freezing. Got about 6 inches of snow that stuck around for a few days. Mid 30'sF for the next few days. Saturday looks good at 50F and sunny.

We are digging out from 20 inches of snow we got last night. Prolly nothing to you Canucks but its enough to have everyone freak out here in Pittsburgh.

We're lucky we kept our power, but I heard that 100,000 were without in the SW PA / eastern Ohio region. A friend of mine told me the Power Co. said that they could expect their power back by Tuesday at the earliest. That sucks.

It was the wet and heavy type of snow, I heard a loud cracking noise early this morning, the tree in my back yard couldn't handle the weight of the snow and one of the main branches of the tree (35 - 40 ft) broke off and fell in the neighbors yard. Missed their porch/house by a couple of feet. It would have done some major damage had it hit.

Congrats SMG your boys outplayed the Pens today for a well deserved victory. That first goal by Gionta was sweeeet!

20 inches of snow anywhere, including Canada, is a lot of fucking snow  In Halifax, we don't generally get a lot of snow but we battle the wind a lot. It was pretty cold here today. I was shivering in about 5 minute of being outside in the wind. The power goes out here way more than any other place I've lived :?

Well we are in the middle of another 6" to 12" snowfall on top of the original 20+" inches. Just got back from the supermarket and the shelves are bare, no bread, a little milk and meat and the thing I don't understand not a roll of toilet paper in the store. Does the snow make people crap more? :D I dunno. :?

My son was supposed to take his drivers test tomorrow. He's bummed.

It's been mild and sunny for a while here in Ottawa.  Still cold enough for the canal to freeze and the ice sculptures for Winterlude though.

Very windy and it was raining sideways this morning. Rain seems to have stopped for now but it's still very windy. I do not like driving over the bridges with this much wind. I could feel it move under me and even dropped away a couple of times. That, plus the crosswinds, was not a pleasant experience.
