If any of you saw the Sunday edition of The Province newspaper (BC) , page 4 showed a flooded yard on the Sunshine Coast , near Sechelt. That was the neighbor of one of my best friends moms house. His mom and my mon go waaay back , anyways , she returned home today , to find that her carport had had 4 foot of SEAWATER!! (mixed with septic run-off)in it !!. The emergency disaster response team had already come and gone with a massive pump , to drain 5 or 6 yards back over the road , and back into the ocean. Her crawlspace had 2 feet of water in it , flooding most of my buddies stored tools , electronic equiptment , books, papers , dried food , etc etc. He's such a pack rat, stooring stuff in his moms crawlspace , even though he hasn't lived there for 20 years. He came up from Vancouver on a Ferry this morning , and I went down to help him drag everything out and sort it . Various electronic test equiptment , generators , tools etc went into totes filled with fresh water to soak the salt out of everything. The neighbor from the B&B next door , spent the day with the mom , cleaning up the gardens , covered in a film of mud , and drowned earthworms. I'll head back in the morning to do some dump runs with my truck....
