Their most important resource , and they don't even know where it comes from , typical , ..........heads in the sand......bla bla bla , we don't care , as long as we can have all of our toys , and our SUV's , we don't even want to know the impact that we have on the world

My apologies to all of my American friends and relatives who ARE in the know....

I would say that probably most Canadians don't know that Canada is the biggest oil supplier to the US as well.

Very true Shake.  I remember telling many friends that we export more oil to the states than Saudi Arabia and was told flat out that I was wrong!  Anyways, hopefully Ralphy knows what he's doing out there...
Brandt: You never went to college...

The Dude: Oh, no I did, but I spent most of my time occupying various administration buildings... smoking a lot of thai stick... breaking into the ROTC... and bowling. To tell you the truth Brandt, I don't remember most of it.

Yup...Canad's days of smugly holding up the "moral card" are long over.

Published: Friday, June 16, 2006 I am and my migraine is getting worse."

In climate change initiatives, the federal government has slipped from a B- under former Liberal environment minister Stephane Dion, to an F for his successor, Rona Ambrose. In its first budget, the Conservative government scrapped more than a dozen Liberal climate change initiatives, but pledged to deliver a new plan by next fall.

"Although Mr. Harper has been prime minister for less than six months, the slide in marks is clear and worrying," reads the report.

It notes that the former Liberal government had made "limited progress" in recent years, but praised Dion for his efforts from June 2005 onward.

Bennett also congratulated the Quebec government, giving it an A+ in climate change for its Kyoto protocol plan unveiled Thursday which includes a new carbon tax and tougher standards for car emissions to help the province meet its greenhouse gas reduction targets. Alberta had the worst score, getting an F in both biodiversity and climate change because of its management in the development of the tar sands.

"The tar sands are not just an economic development opportunity," said Bennett. "They are not an energy project as the energy ministers would like you to believe. They are a destruction of the planet project."
