I was in touch with the organizer of our TPB Orbit Room parties today. He practically sez outright that
GES/HAF's threats against the party caused the first party to be under-attended. I suggested he visit this board, since it is much healthier and more active than shitcase. This was his response (i deleted his real name, etc.):

Hi...

Have not done much towards second evening yet. Have not checked out org yet,
went to showcase and it looks like the same idiot is ranting on it, one
should be allowed to kill one person once in awhile. I am seriously thinking
of having showcase trace his IP address and finding out who it is and maybe
even pressing charges since he did threating to blow up the Orbit Room with
us in it... that is a nice Federal term that would shut him up for awhile...

I see he says he was at the Orbit Room, would find that interesting since
there were only a few of us and we are pretty sure he was not there...
however there was the one guy who was early and an old style TPB shirt on...

Anyway it is really to bad that idiots like this guy can even afford, let
alone know how to access the internet or turn on a computer.

I will keep you informed...

Yes the organizer put a lot of effort into the TPB night, he gathered some great prizes, had good TPB related food and music, including Sandbox, and a steady loop of TPB episodes playing.  I expressed thanks to him at the showcase site before the last big delete.

The Orbit Room is a cool place and the band that played later that night, Dave Murphy sounded pretty good.  

It is too bad that it was under-attended, I know there was some confusion as to the exact date, that may have contributed as well.  

I do hope he puts on a second one, if you are a TPB fan in Ontario you should definitely check it out.

I heard from Shake and Fishy that it was a good time, but does the guy who organised it think that it was because of GES that people didnt show up? The guy is a troll, and people dont take hims eriously. Ok, maybe I should not say that, but rather how can you take him seriously.
I didnt go to the Orbit room and it had nothing to do with GES, I would have loved to have went and met Fishy and Shake, but didnt!

I would hope that people didn't take GES's empty threats seriously either.  The fact that the showcase board kept getting deleted because of his idiocy added to the confusion about the date of the party.  Also there may have been a lot of people who stopped looking at showcase because of him and forgot about the party.  GES did make threats, however, and I would love to see charges pressed.  Perhaps the organizer and ShadowWeaver from Showcase should get in touch.

Amen, I'm all for that. Hehheh!  Well ... not kill ... but I 'd like to tape said person's eyes open and make him/her watch 48 hours of Britney Spears videos.

As an aside, I have a lawyer buddy who works at Alberta Justice ... give me GES' IP and I'll see what I can do.

The quieter it gets over on showcase's tpb board, the sooner ges/haf departs. Notice how easy it is to have normal, civilized posts on a well moderated board. I wonder why showcase won't at least let one or two reliable fans take care of that board on a volunteer basis?
