2006 - Resolutions?
« on: Dec 29, 2005, 01:31 AM »
So, I'm just wondering if any of you have made any resolutions for the upcoming new year and what they are.  I know some people are of the opinion that resolutions are pointless but for those of you who don't think that, share!

Me?  I resolve to stop going to the pub 4 - 5 times a week and save my pennies to move from this city to another place.  Time to shake things up, I say.

So, what's your resolution?

Cheers!   :D

Not really for new years, but i resolved to stop smoking pot, quit on the 9th of dec lol, and have been doing well, i'm also moving, down to burleigh heads on the coast, got my licence back, paid all my outstanding debts, and am finally getting my life back into some semblance of order.  Positive outlook ahoy!

edit, i think the break from pot has affected my spelling lol.

I would love to lose more weight. I have stayed at the same weight for a year and a half! Now mind you, I'm happy that I haven't gained any..... but it's so annoying when you wanna lose it and can't! I have lost 55 pounds so far and am proud of that...... but if I could lose just even 20 more.... I would be ecstatic!! :D

Finish writing my Master's thesis. I've been really lazy about it ever since we hit December. Also, now that I'm officially out of Hamilton I have to find a new gym so I can start working out again.

In 2006, I would like to drink more and try weed for the first time EVER!!  :beeer:  :gethigh:

But seriously...
I'm moving next week so my first resolution of spending less time commuting is about to be fulfilled. Every year the weight loss resolution tops the list and this year is no different because I aspire to be ready to break out this bad boy on the first day of Summer...

Best of luck with your resolutions, everyone!!!! Djet, if you win the lottery are you gonna share the wealth with your trailer park pals?

I think we can work out a deal indeed :) i believe theres a place in one of my goals that you can fill up :)

he he...me too. I don't make resolutions cause I always break them and then feel shitty about myself afterwards....

but if I had to:

1. Change professions. Over 20 years of working with the general public has worn me right out. It gets to the point that on my down time I don't want to be around anyone. You can imagine what that does to your social life :D

2. Ditch the  smoking.

3. Contribute more to my RRSP's {which kind of depends on #2..lol]

4.Spend more time with the people I love.

Well ...... already gave up the liquor [for the most part ;)], the smokes, and the other "recreational type substances" so wtf is left I ask?  Ah yes ... need to shed a few pounds, work less, enjoy life more.  That shall be my resolution for 2006 which will be a challenge for me for sure!

I think I'm going to take up smoking so I'll have something to give up for my 2007 New Year's Resolution. :P

Good luck to all those trying to quit smoking.

I bought my patches today. I have been smoking for 20 years and I am sick of giving the goverment more than I have to. My husband and I are spending at least $350 a month on the dirty stuff. Thats a friggin car payment. The thing that freaks me out the most is that I have never tried before. The only time in 20 years I have never smoked was when I was sleeping. Right now i'm up to 2 packs a day. My husband tells me that I will feel great, but i'm kinda doubting that.

i am pretty sure you'll feel great budgirl ....that's after ya get through the withdrawls....
i been wanting to quit for years and have tried, but have severe anxiety i find when i get moody from withdrawls it triggers my anxiety real bad, and i am too paranoid to take anything to help me through it so i really dunno how i would go about quitting....but good luck to you, and wishing you success....

as far as my resolution, i stopped doing that cause i find when i plan something i always neglect doing so, so all i tell myself when the new year comes is i am gona just keep working on myself, my anxiety and my agoraphobia. which i have to admit it will be the first january in 5 years i can say i am a bit more mobile and able to leave the house so my resolution is probably to just keep working on that....i wish it was the smoking but for now i am working on smoking less  can't do it all at once i'd land in the loonie bin  :?

I am not too sure how well it will go, but I want to lose 5 pounds a month.

There are 60 pounds that need to come off so to be the weight I want and where my doctor says I should be.

I think reducing the size of the portions of food I eat at each meal will be a big help.
