post levels

This other site i'm on has post level indicators. It's a hockey site. so a newbie would have a subtitle of AHL rookie. After a 100/500/1000 posts or whatever it changes. To like Art Ross trophy winner, consistant goal scorer or whatever. Maybe something like that here would be cool. What'ya think?

I've seen this before and like it , though it might encourage a bit of  "post whoring"

"Get off that limb , that's where all the nuts are!" --Mrs. Saucy

I'm with the Saucy one. Giving people rewards for certain levels can cause irresponsible posting or one word posts like "yeah" or " "

I agree, but that other site I was talking 'bout, people get on ya about cheap posts. But i can understand the arguement. Not a big deal to me, but thought it was a cool idea.

I can change your title to rookie if you want  :D

We had a system set up where you could add +1 or -1 "Park Respect" but we agreed it might cause problems so it was removed :beeer:

I think the reason we dont have ranks like you are suggesting is because you have a custom title rather than a pre-set system title.

Good idear there Captain *but* I have seen it cause trouble on other forums I'm a member of.  Specifically, as mentioned above people started posting one word responses etc and other "got on them about it" which lead to flaming etc.  Changed the feeling of the forum all together - and not for the better.  While I'm not saying this would happen here I am simply indicating the points made above make sense to me.  That said, if we go with it I'd love the rank of "Shit Storm Trooper" - it's got a nice ring to it ;).

Way back in the day, when this board was just beginning to get busy with the refugees of the Showcase meltdown flowing in, we had this discussion, and c.d. prefered that we have no ranks or tags for post-levels, and thus it has been.

Me, myself and I, we do not care !

numbered cheers!

Ya I agree, we don't don't need the board stuffed with empty posts.

Ya ive seen this at other board to. Titles are not a good idea. You will get people making a one word post or a one word reply and they do this just to get there post count up making themselves look special when in fact they look like losers
