Christmas Present Ideas?
« on: Dec 14, 2005, 10:31 PM »
So anyone have any great Christmas present ideas?   I'm thinking I'll be giving alot of wine and chocolate gifts this year but I'd love some better suggestions.  Here's a few I have but they are for a certain type of person...

I love the Candy link!

Anything from Lee Valley Tools! Great gifts for young and old! There are 12 locations nationwide , including Winnipeg , or online. The catalogue is worth the read (the paper one anyways , I havn't checked out their website , but spend hours burried in the catalogues, and at the store in Vancouver).

Liquor always goes over well, along with restaurant gift certificates.

I've had a hard as fuck time trying to buy for my parents.  Ended up getting my dad some screwdrivers and my mom a blender.

Magazine subscriptions can be good, and you can always re-new next year. It may be a little late for this year though.

My parents are interested in photography.( Holliday snaps eh? Nudge nudge wink wink. Could be taken on holliday) They sometimes drive all over the Bruce Peninsula just to take pictures with their fancy digi camera's. This year I got them a one hour sightseeing flight of the Bruce Peninsula so they can take aerial pic's of some spots they know and maybe even their house. $220 for 1 hour-3 people.

A renewable xmas present, what a great idea 4eyes!  Alcohol and sweets are always a good present CG, as is music, i always send a cd to my kiwi cuz's and they do the same for me.

Plants are good to (no, not that plant), and like SMG mentioned about his mum's blender, small electrical goods are great too, bread makers etc (i'm buying myself a pizza maker lol).

One year I made "free computer service" coupons cuz I fix computer for a living.  I handed them out to about 10 people BUT not a single one of them actually used the coupons!!!  They were all happy that I gave them the coupons but to this day, nobody has called for the free service!  I didn't put expiry dates on them either!  Oh well... they must have perfect computers!!

What the hell do I buy for my pregnant wife?  She doesn't want clothes cause they won't fit.  She can't wear jewellry at work.  She don't drink.  She don't play video games.  She has satellite radio.

She's stumped me better than ever before.  She says she doesn't even know what she wants.

Did that last time she was pregnant and they couldn't do any of the heat things like wraps, etc and they didn't want to do the full body massages. So they made her rebook for after the baby was born.  Crappy, but the baby comes first.

Nice thinking E.

Hmm maybe that particular spa did not have a special package for moms to be.  I gave my friend a gift certificate last year and it was a special package. She had a maternity scrub to exfoiliate and increase circulation and a maternity massage! My friend loved it!!

I would check another place.  If you live in Vancouver, my friends own a spa in their hotel and I'm pretty sure they have a pregnant package as well.  It might not say on the website but if you call and ask about it, I'm sure they have one or would arrange one. http://www.absolutespa.com/
