Good point Ben, what I should have said is it is great news the three are ok, that is despicable what happened to Tom Fox.

Undoubtedly Tom Fox was killed only because he was an American, never mind that he was there as an aid worker. This shows what the insurgents think of westerners as a people. Cheers to the troops that executed this rescue operation. Let's all hope for a speedy end to this bloody mess in Iraq.

IMO the inhumans who kidnapped those men were making their point.
All along we saw that the Canadian POWs were fairly well kept, as was the Brit. but the American always looked shabby (well shabbier than the rest) Im not surprises that poor man didn't make it, as well as Im not surprised the Canadians did. (I am a little surprised the Brit. made it out. Although I heard today that he wasn't treated as well as the Canadians.) So those kidnappers were making a point.
Think Bush got it? Cause I know PaulMartin did. As in THANK GOD we never agreed w/bush to enter Iraq.

In the beginning I thought that we should have backed the Americans for the simple fact that if we were ever threatened by anything, we'd need their manpower and money to help. I don't feel that way anymore, for one - why the heck would anyone threaten us? and two - we're better at peace keeping and we've earned alot of respect for that role. Please don't get me wrong, but I just felt at the time that we should keep our allies close, however Jean Chretien did a good job (in poor English mind you-tisk, tisk) of offering our services from a peacekeeping point of view instead of fighting. Seems to me however, that alot of  Cdn. soldiers are being killed for this cause, (whatever that may be) but that is the life of a soldier. That risk, I guess, is always there. Thank you to everyone serving, I'm proud of you and I'm proud to be a Canadian. So glad these people were released.

meh...what can ya do when polls suggest that just under 50% of Americans still believe Sadam bombed the Trade center, still believe there were WMD and that anyone who disagrees obviously is just jealous of America.

The Bush propaganda machine and Fox News did an admirable job in morphing Bin Laden into Sadam and keeping the fear alive.

I mean look at the terror alert levels. It's not like when it goes up that there is any plan in place....I mean what are you supposed to do when it goes from yellow to Orange? Nothing...cause there was never was a plan...it's all about keeping the population scared......easier to control that way.

Meanwhile China is waking up......has her hand firmly entenched in Iranian Oil,has a possible 80 million unmarrigiable men coming up in the next decade and is the largest buyer of weapons from Russia. The line in the sand has been drawn.

On a lighter note....here's a funny arcticle about Cheney's list of demands when he's travelling....

http://www.taipeitimes.com/News/world/archives/2006/03/25/2003299151

one of the more telling ones:

Quote
The document listed 13 requirements. Among them: All televisions in Cheney's hotel suite should be tuned to Fox News,

As Jon Stewart pointed out last night......god forbid should Cheney watch any other news stations and find out what a shitty job he and the admin have been doing
