My new boss is fucking INSANE. She is a psycho dr who had the audacity to tell me that I am on call with her 24 hours a day....hmm, yep arlene with her Masters in Religious Studies to act like a DR. She was mad because I refuse to work 24h a day because she is actually only paying me to work 4 hours a day on research and yet Monday I worked 13 hours...can I claim over time? No, it goes into paid vacation time. As it stands I can take a whole month off paid and I just started the job 3 weeks ago. She then blamed me for her inability to teach or create a fucking lesson plan, even though I merely photo copied what she gave me, told her what needed to be fixed...she refused...so I handed it in to gradstudies so the class could be okayed...then it is not what she wanted and I should have made the changes regardless of what she said. It is my fault the department spent 300, 000.00$ in a few months...hmm just started three weeks ago and had to beg for 2000$ to get some elders into town because she fucked up and was sending them to Australia while neglecting to ask if they had passports, let alone birth certificates. She was then pissed when I asked if they did...then she asked them personally and guess who was right. Pissed that the community elders and first nations like me, I tried to explain to her that poor is poor and we can relate and well I grew up in those environments where she did not. My fault I grew up poor!! I hate her and wish that her head would explode off her shoulders.

Guess I am lucky !
I actually like my job, sure sometime's it sucks, sometime's it rocks .
Mostly it's a challenge, if your job ain't a challenge quit while your ahead ....
I have worked for myself most of my life, done lot's of thing's , as soon as I have figured out exactly how to do something I move on, I like the idea of working at something that I really don't  have a clue about, kinda make's thing's fun .

Yup , it's scary but fun , I ain't been bored in a long time !

Right now, I pretty much cracked what I work at, I spent a lot of time learning how to do it , I have it down to a fine art, it's real easy , and hence my problem. Easy is not good ,it's boring , once you have someting cracked love it and leave it ..

Time for something new , I might have a go at rocket science, don't know jack shit about rocket's :-)
Could be fun !

Don't matter how little you know, someone out there know's even less !

No one over there would be willing to give you a job and pay you "under the table?" I had a friend that came over from England, he had a Canadian wife and she had two kids...They were finding it real hard to get by because he was in the same boat as you. I was working construction at the time, and got him a couple months work, and the boss was willing to pay him in cash. He made enough from that to keep him going until he got whatever the hell it is to work in Canada. Now he is managing a electronics store. Point being there is always someone out there that is willing to do that for someone...you just gotta ask around.

Believe me, I am looking for under the table work here, but employers are reluctant to do it because its to damn easy to get caught. With the tax rate here the government would lose a ton of cash. And since I am not covered by the healthcare plan, getting hurt could cause major trouble for me and my "employer".  I may end up doing volunteer work just to get out of the house. Red Cross, here I come!!

Group Councilling isn't to bad THERE you can vent and not get fired.hahahahahahahaha
They make the rules not me . When I was involved in the Emergency industry I looked forward to sessions to vent my "opinions " and concerns towards the way things were heading.
My advice to you is to go with it and turn their hair grey..... :D

jesus

only days after my nasty encounter with bastard airline easyjet, I've had a shite day at work.

I've been ill for months but working overnight as a security guard.  recently I've been falling asleep and feelin shaky at 3am when I finish at 7am due to my illness. it's really horrible and scary when I get like that.

my boss asked me two days ago  if I minded today waiting maybe as much as an hour for a temp to come in and take over at the end of my shift instead of the regular guy, they;d be comin in late due to oor services of buses on a sunday.  weird, because busee dont start that early on a sunday and I have to get a taxi too.  which made me suspect whoever said theyd work were lying.

so they dont show after 1 hr ten mins and I call my boss.  no answer. I call control and ask for help. they call a major boss who says go home if the other guy coming in has keys. I dont know this guy so I ring my main boss.  still no answer and by now its 1 hr and half later, so they're basically not coming(temp). I leave a message with my boss who didnt answer that I've been given the go ahead to go home and Im also unwell, I'm not coming in later that night as I was scheduled.

but now I'm worried I'm in trouble because the site cant be left unattended even though there's 24 hr cameras everywhere on it.  but jesus, am I just supposed to stay another 24 hours without food and sleep?  my boss was supposed to be on the phone and obviously idnt give a monkeys.

fecks sake. I'm knackered and ill and pissed off.  what a week.  has anyone any advice?  I dont think they should have expected me to stay, I'm not the bloody manager. do you think I should be worried? feckers.
Randy's got his pants off !!!

I don't think it was your responsibility to stay any longer, but I understand why you feel worried (I would feel the same way if I were in your situation). How long is your shift normally?

I saw a link in Hamilton's weekly alternative newspaper that I think I'll check out:
rudecustomers.ca
It's supposed to be a place to vent about rude customers.
