Big changes for Saucy. After years of part time self employment , and trying to live cheap , we've really gotten nowhere. Last week , I was offered full time work , by a friend who is the project manager for what has just become the largest construction company in our area. I get job offers all the time , as I have lived here forever , done many types of work , and have a great reputation , but this time , I have the added pressure of NEEDING to buy the house that we live in , from my wife's parents. It's all happened rather fast. My mother in law visiting , and wanting to know what our intention is for the house ( we live in a large house on a large 1/2 acre lot 1/2 forested , for $500 a month + caretaking , about $700 below the rental market). My fiscally savvy step mom , presented us with a unique way to but the house , providing that the inlaws help us . So now I start working on Monday , subcontracting as a carpenters helper for $20 /hour to start . I talked to the Bank yesterday , concerning our convoluted plan to purchase the house , and they said OK. The way that property prices are skyrocketing right now , if we decide on a price right now , we will do quite well , and in a few years the bank will like the value of the house so much , that we can finish the deal with the inlaws with ease. The house is assessed at $247,400 , but would sell right away for close to $450,000. Sounds like we might be able to split the difference.

End result , is that we will gain so much equity in 3 years , that the house will be probably worth $600,000+ (unless the bubble bursts , but that probably wont happen 'till after the 2010 Olympics) .

I have been guaranteed at least 2 years , and that just covers the companies present commitments , so I'm sure I can do this as long as my body holds out. I have built many houses , but not for  a while. The boss seems like a great guy to work for , so it'll all be good , just a bit scary today , thinking of how much I'll be away from the family. I will also be on the Org MUCH less , probably just checking in after 9 , for a quick look see.

I'm sure I'll have lots to tell you all next week , after I have been back at it for a few days...

Atta boy SB, put that skill to work and earn those greenbacks.  Sounds like you'll get a sweet deal on the house too.  Good luck.

I'm changing jobs. I want to be the guy who follows Jacob around and picks up the pieces after Ricky gets him fired, yet I sell computers.

My previous job was a Department Manager of Electronics at a Wal-Mart store.. I was there for 5 years.. finally decided to give it a rest and try something else.. and now I work as a cashier at Algonquin Park's Two Rivers store.. as well as doing public impersonations on my days off (or scheduling days off to perform)..

I used to be a DJ and performed at parties and weddings.. when I decided (and realized) that I was much better at celebrity impersonations and comedy.  ;)

I ran a factory in Mexico that produces babies to sell to adoptive parents.  It didn't pan out though the food cost was too high.

Aye they dont let me on the computer too often, the vivid colors cause too much excitement.

The good news is my insane asylum is right beside a brewery and they gave me a part time job watching the bottle line for mice in bottles.
