That's totally crazy, ET! I've never had anything happen to me on ebay! Umm, I think you can report them to ebay somehow...I'll go investigate.  :P

All Ebay does is tell you not to do the transaction. They make no attempt to stop the fraud!!

That's no good...you should at least be able to let them know that an ebay member is trying to do something fraudulent...
Yeah, whatever.....

The person attempting the fraud is not an ebay member, he stole an inactive user ID from someone.
In order for the ebay security team to do anything a transaction has to take place.

As I said above, I re-listed the watch on ebay last night and this morning a guy(?) tried to get me to sell it outside of ebay.

if anyone tries to get you to do a transaction outside of ebay, you are supposed to report them immediately.  it's totally against ebay house rules.

I'm watching the tracking progress of a new drivers side mirror for my truck as it comes from Cerrito CA to me here in Ontario.  It's been to LA, the to Ohio and Indiana and Michigan and now it's at the border in Windsor.

I've bought 5 times on Ebay and haven't had a negative experience yet.

Between my sons and I, we have purchased over 80 items on ebay. We have never been ripped off.

Slow delivery is perhaps the only problem we have experienced.

When purchasing using the feedback rating as a guide. It can be helpful. If someone has a poor feedback score I will usually avoid them.

The scumbags perpatrating the fraud use "phishing" emails to get real ebay members to respond to their false ebay emails to "update your profile". Generally its someone that has been inactive for awhile. The second POS that tried to "buy" my watch said he lived in Spain, but an ebay user ID search said that the member lived in Maryland, USA.
Believe it or not there is a forum dedicated to stopping these bastards. www.pgardner.net I am not the only one that has been taken by these cheats. I learned a valuable lesson that I will now post in the pearls of wisdom thread.

I'm assuming this is crap, I haven't been active on ebay for quite a while now, so as ET points out in the previous post, they're 'phishing' for my information.

Delete and don't worry about it. Someone is trolling for your account info. Ebay won't ask for your info online

Thanks for posting all of that info Melba  :D I have seen more than one e-mails in my junk mail folder from ebay or paypal saying someone has tried to access my account. Which of course is just BS. But I have just deleted the e-mails. From now on I will send the fake ebay ones to spoof@ebay.com if any one has a similar address for paypal I will use that one as well. The ones I have gotten from paypal are PayPaI by the way. Capital I where the small "l" should be.
