That was a good commercial Darkplace  8)  Some of the best commercials from my youth were made by the Rainer Beer Company.  The beer itself was not great unless you got in on draft.  But the commercials from the mid-70's to early-80's were very clever.  Rainer beer is sadly no longer brewed in Seattle. Pabst or someone bought them out and moved them to Calif  :x So enjoy these commercials.  Each one is only about 30 seconds long.

Here are a few more from back in the day.  I do not think these commercials rock however but just a trip down memory lane for some of us when cigarette commercials were the norm.  There has not been a cigarette commercial here in the United States since the early 70's and I barely remember them.

Yes it does make me feel strange as well Fishy.  Like I said the commercials do not rock at all but are very disturbing to say the least. Of course the tobacco companies were not advertising to kids with the Flintstones commercial  :roll:

I don't know if that is true. When the Flintstones first ran they were not marketed as a children's show. It was promoted as an adult show. Only in reruns and syndication were the Flintstones marketed as a children's show. That was when the ending of the show(not a commercial) was changed.

I suppose that is true Walt.  I do remember looking through my grandparents old TV Guides (Grandma saved everything) and was surprised to see that The Flintstones was originally on during a weeknight and not during the syndicated cartoon/children's block that ran on the local UHF station when I was growing up.  Here are two more.

So I was bored and came across these while looking through YouTube.  As a  30+ year Monty Python watcher and a huge John Cleese Fan.  I came across these commercials for Compaq computers.  I guess these were only shown in The United Kingdom in the mid-1980's.  I certainly do not remember them.  But they are hilarious.  Most are only 30 seconds or so long but a couple are over 1 minute.  I hope that you enjoy them as much as I did.
