px, thats sad. Anyways my favorite song is "New Orleans is Sinking".

"Yanno, he... He grew up as a little shit spark from the ole' shit flame, then he turned into a shit bond fire and then driven by the winds of his monumental ignorance he turned into a raging shit fire storm. If I get to be, married to Barb... I'll have total control of Sunnyvale and then I can unleash a shitnomi tidal wave that'll engulf Ricky and and extinguish his shit flames forever... and with any luck... He'll drown in the undershit of that wav

Anything from the Hip is great, but I say New Orleans is Sinking is my favorite.   I met the band back in '89 when they played a show at the Misty Moon in Halifax when I lived there.  Much Music was taping Monday Big Ticket or whatever the fuck they called it.  Got to see them front row, got back stage and partied with them (minus the drummer).  Best night ever.

Hey Catdog.....yeah the Hip were so down to earth it really surprised me. At the time there were all the Much Music guys there and the Radio guys but they didn't really pay them much attention, they actually just wanted to hang out and relax after the show.  Me and my buddy talked most of the time with Gord Sinclair, just shooting the shit.  He had his bass sitting there and let us play it.  We smoked a couple of doobs with him, Paul  and Bobby, then they brought in a couple of 24's in.  We were there for over 2 hours with them and it was like talking to anyone else.  I remember leaving there and going "holy fuck, can you believe that just happened?".  It's no surprise to me that they are as popular as they are.   These guys are the quintesential Canadian band.  I still have the ticket stub with all their signatures stuffed in my "Up to Here" cassette.  It's cool too cause I now live about 10 minutes away from Kingston where they're from.

that sounds fuckin awesome.

i'd have to say day for night is probably my 2nd favourite hip album. have been listening to underground house/techno/breaks for a few years now, so i havn't caught much of their most recent offerings.

New Orleans is Sinking has to be my fave, but I like every song on Up to Here.  I saw them in concert in 2001 but I wasn't overly impressed.  Actually, I was downright dissapointed.

I'm still a fan though and listen to a lot of their stuff.

I think they're out of their slump now though. For a while, their albums were really samey, but since Gord did his solo thing, they're rejuvenated. In Violet Light was great.

Interesting side note: Rob Baker was behind me in the Tim Horton's drive thru a couple of weeks ago. Pimp still owes me money for weed.
Captain Arsehole and Wonderboy are here!

What about Grace too?? thats is my favorite, along with Blow at high dow.

I know someone who had partied with them a few times, and have heard a few stories about them, and they seem awsome.  I like most of there stuff, even gords solo shit.

I love the "classic" hip and after the Trouble in the Henhouse cd I was losing interest, but they are always great party tunes.

Love 38 yrs old, new orleans, courage and ahead by a century. I also really like The Darkest one!!
