The woman who played Tripitaka was a model in Japan as well. She died of anorexia about 15 years ago. Tripitaka means the 'Three Buckets of The Buddha' in Sanskrit.

Yeah - I thought so too. I just went to look it up - and I read another biography that said it was leukaemia. Have a look at this:

Interesting site too.

Haha, cool Stoney thanks for the links man, nice new avatar too, those old skool hats are pure class  8)

LOL knocks, yeah they played well, i don't think any one except the diehard fans could have chosen the tigers to win the premireship at the start of the season, but then i wasn't expecting the cowboys to get their either.

With teams like the tigers and south sydney rabbitoes coming into form there just isn't any weak teams in it  anymore, makes for a great competition.

Cheers Phil.

wonders if SaraSteel watched it....

Jeez, she was only 27!  lol, she recorded a song in the 70's called oh cookie face :)  Looking at her pictures it looked like she was quite a character.  Man that photo of her in that outfit brought back some memories, haven't seen that show for years, i think they used to replay it on abc on weekend mornings
cheers phil

They had it on Recovery for a while on ABC, but it was too early for me on a Saturday. In Vic you can get them thru JB Hi Fi and Sanity on DVD, I bought 7 of them. And the hat used to be my grandfather's, he doesn't need it where he is. :P

Hey SC, thanks for the info about "Monkey" and Masako, I never saw that, but now I'll try to find a dvd or whatever exists. The actual Chinese "Monkey" fable is really about the monk who first brought Buddhist scriptures to China from India. As a little girl, it was one my daughter's favourite stories . . she had a great illustrated kid's version of the tale. We even have the little figurines of Monkey, Piggy and the priest and a couple of others I forget. Good stuff!

cheers!

No worries BB! Some Taoist sages have said that 'The Journey To The West' is guarded by mystical spirits! I hope that applies to DVD's too.

Haha, greets, where in NZ do you hail from? Broncos were 6 points ahead of the whole competition until the last few weeks before the end of the seasonand they choked hardcore... Which i'm glad about personally cause i can't stand them, lol.

Fan of the rugby myself, just a shame the ozzie international team sucks at the mo, lol. NZ is strong as ever, Rockofoko is a great player to watch, exciting.

Cheers Phil.

LOL the last time i was in Wellington i scored some mad Thai Buddha buds from a dj at a karoake bar, something about an onion i think it was called lol hazy night, got up and did karaoke twice, if you ever heard me sing you'd know that was a huge mistake.

Yeah, the humidity is what'll get you in Brissie, the heat and the humidity.
