I'm one of those people! man...so what do you have to say about it? :flipoff:  It's not like I get up everyday and dress my dogs, but hell man...on holidays and shit, it's funny as hell to dress them up.  Just cause you don't enjoy owning a dog, maybe a lot of people do....and dog owners love their dogs....as they are like their children.

My Jack Russells are little white dogs, so on Canada Day we've actually used Halloween hair colour (RED) and painted our dogs to look like Canada Flags and took them to parades and you should see the smiles we get...we've even dressed them up and took them trick or treating with the kids.   It's all about seeing smiles on the kids faces...they love it!!

It's all about the kids man.

I am with Becca! I dress my Ziggy in boots and sweater in the winter, he LOVES it and I do have little outfits that go with the holidays, little sweater with a pumpkin and all that crap. He is a blue heeler cross thing (a little below my knee in size) and for some reason he really loves getting dressed up. He gets cold really fast and he LOVES his shoes. Also practical reasons to dress a dog, sled dogs need shoes to keep ice from forming in between the pads on their feet. But I never dyed a dog or put fairy wings on them or anything...don't think he would let me do that to be honest, other then the love of sweaters and shoes, he is a nasty little beast and would not think twice about nailing me...But, is it okay to dye a dogs hair? what about them licking the dye? not being a cow or anything, but it is a question I have....

Haha, Arlene, you, me and Beav should get our doggies together for a fashion show.  If there are fire hyrdants on the runway, my little guy will be there, heh.

I'd love to see a pic of your patriotic doggies, beav .. too funny!

Cheers,
B.

Arlene -"Is it ok to dye a dog's hair?" Well, I dunno . . I used to wash dogs as a kid to make money . . even did a little trimming . . but I think it would be okay, just treat the dog with the same care as I treated the "goodwitch" . . she knew good witches have golden hair, and as halloween was approaching she asked me to dye her hair - and here she is getting the dye job . . notice my dear friend Min Hee is not licking her hair, I kept her distracted during the actual chemical application and waiting period, but let her frolic in the shower unsupervised later:

Now with golden hair all dryed, the new Good Witch is ready to fly:

A bit early for Halloween shite cheers  :D !

LOL, cool.  We don't do Halloween in oz for some reason.

I'm a dog owner since i can remember and sorry to agree wit the others but dressing animals up is a bit sad, lol.

It's almost as stoopid as people shaving there animal be it cat or dog during winter, hello people, their coat acts as insulation warm in winter, cool in summer, and it regulates there body heat, actually, dresssing up your dog is  nothing compared to this, whoah, better stop, don't want to start making enemies already.  And granted there are tmies when a trim in summer might help out, but shaving their hair back to skin is odd...  Just my two cents

off topic just watching that show "just for laughs gags" OMG best tv show ever!!

No Halloween in Australia you say? Fuck a duck! Why on earth not? I did have a friend who was questioned by Aussie security, entering Oz. They asked -"Do you have a criminal record?" and my friend asked - "Is it still required?"

I only celebrate Halloween and family and friends' birthdays and funerals, so I'd really be facked!!!!

p.s. my son-in-law is a Hungarian-Australian- Canadian football player and artist extraordinaire cheers! And Attila loves fackin Halloween!

In Australia we celebrate Halloween by locking up refugee asylum seekers in a haunted house. If they make it through the night they get permanent residency and a snickers.

I'd like to see some halloween costumes from everyone's past.  I'll try and find mine from 2 years ago and post it later.

At Xmas my wife puts tinsel on our Staffordshire Bull Terrier's collar and the dog (Sheba) loves the extra attention she gets as people walk past smiling at her. Harmful? Not when people are more relaxed around her as at first glimpse she looks like an aggressive dog but the tinsel eases that.

Edit: I've decided to delete the pictures as I am now weirded out by strangers looking at them.

These are some of mine. I haven't found some of the other ones I was looking for, so these will have to do for now.
Here's my Phantom of the Opera (faces blanked out because I'm doing this without permission)
[picture redacted]

A Ghostbuster (I don't like the way I look, that's why I blanked my face). I put the costume together myself, made a proton pack, made the Ghostbusters logo for my sleeve.
[picture redacted]

Dorothy from Wizard of Oz. I really love this costume because I sewed it & decorated the 'ruby slippers' myself (plus it won 2nd prize at my old work's costume contest).

Oooooh Melba, what a splendid Dorothy you make, cuter than the original for sure! And the RRS are fantastic!
I am always a vampire or ghoul, pretty slack, eh? Any advice for this Halloween? On the celeb side I usually get - Col. Sanders, Kenny Rogers or Old Saint NIck . . can't shave the mighty wick (beard) . . so with make-up, what should I aim for?

masked cheers!

I found my costume from two years ago.  See if you can guess.
Also a pumpkin I carved for the same party.
