David, Great Danes make awesome pets...They are really just big lap dogs...so loyal and loving...and they will get mean if need be...usually the size is a deterent...They are easily trained and need lots of exercise...they do have one major factor...they are not tolerate of cold very well...they need to be indoors when it is winter...and in summer they don't much like the extreme heat..but definitely the cold..they must be inside...and yes, scooby was a gd...so was marmaduke I think...*smiles* good luck with the search and if you do take one home....I wanna see pics of the lil feller...(lil) oh, and make sure you alot some money for food...big food budget. *hugs*
