A Million Vacations

friday friday is a good time to shine
night sea journeys journeys to unwind

losing all survival signs
rerun movies taking all your time

a million vacations is what you've got in mind

throwing out all kinds of fishing line
friday friday is a good time to shine
rant and rave leave this town behind
start over with a new dream to climb

a million vacations is what you've got in mind

everyone needs a town a tune a dream to rely on
one to dance to one to scream to survive on
you need a high a face a space a chace to rely on
cause you can only drive down main street so many times

I once met the Taco Bell dog. Considering the chaffing on my calf, he was more excited to meet me.

Since I am a reporter, I have had the fortune (or misfortune) to stumble across a few celebs and interview them

1/ Don Cherry
2/ Mike Weir
3/ Dalton McGuinty/Ernie Eves/Prime Minister Martin (I include them as a single entity since they are politicians and not really that famous or interesting for our purposes)
4/ Gordie Howe
5/ Ken Dryden
6/ Adam Gontier, lead singer of Three Days Grace
7/ Ronnie Hawkins

The most curious thing about the MP is the fact that he had some bad dandruff the day I was in a media scrum. I thought his handlers would take care of that. One more reason I wouldn't vote for him...

Yo,

I met John Travolta at a Kenny roger's Roaster in Hollywood. The story is in the '2 facts, 1 lie about yourself' thread. Funny, first person who took a stab at that guessed I was b.s. ing about Travolta, but that was true. Anyone care to guess which of the remaining two facts is the lie:

I shaved my entire body.
I was the voice of the BBC news.

Now fuck off!

I got work to do.
Now Fuck Off!
I got work to do.

For pity's sake if anyone has met Adrian Edmondson, Rik Mayall, Nigel Planer or Peter Richardson...I want to hear about it. [-o<

I met Rik and Ade backstage before one of the Bottom Live shows they did at the Appolo in Manchester. They were top chaps and stopped to chat even though they were rehearsing, they introduced us to Lesbo Ferdinand (Bottom fans will know). We go to sit an watch them for a while practice whacking each other with frying pans and cricket bats

On a completely different note I met the Queen Mother on holiday. She was opening a church near Balmoral Castle in Scotland

Alos on the list of famous people who have met me (mostly Britsh Celebs):
Peter Kaye & most of the cast of Phoenix Nights filmed around the corner from my house
Vernon Kaye & His LOVELY WIFE Tess Daily
Chris Moyles
Frank Skinner & David Baddiel
Mel C (From The Spice Girls)

dam Lucky bastards here i was wishing i was at those Live bottom shows while you got behind the scenes!

i wenth to the comedy club, where they used to preform theyre shows, a few times, noone nearly as good there ofc

Sharon Stone
all members of Cinderella(took them to the mall!!)
Stephan Percy(former lead singer of Ratt)
Frank Hannon( Tesla)

The Sharon Stone story is cool, at least to me.

Ms. Stone and her entourage(sister and manager) were stuck in NYC after 9/11 and they decided to drive back to LA. They got as far as Cincinnati, Ohio and the airports reopened. I was working part-time as a limo driver and we got the run. For some reason my name,Jay, was the only one she could remember :leaf: We had a limo a sedan and three drivers there. They wanted someone to drive their rental car to the airport, thats why so many drivers were involved. In reality all they needed was a limo and 2 drivers( I tried to explain this to management, but you know how that goes) So we had a small caravan en-route to the airport. After we dropped off the rental car we all rode to the terminal in the limo. We alll know how the airports reacted to cars in front of the terminal. When we dropped them off I got out with Ms. Stone and company and walked into the airport with her on my arm 8). She was so wigged out that she offered to buy us tickets just to walk out to the gate with her. Of course we didn't. In case you are wondering she DID NOT TIP!! :x Cheap ass rich people :P

Excellent Sharon Stone story.

We had her dine in the restaurant I work at a few years back. She was such a total bitch. Waaaay high maintence...nothing was good enough.....she was rude,condescending...wouldn't talk to the waitress directly about anything...made her peon do it. In the end she had our toughest waitress in tears.By the time I twigged to what was going on....I made my way over to ask her to leave....but they'd already paid the bill{NO TIP}...so I just let it go.To bad,I was dying to kick her ass out. I would of done it too.

Harrison Ford on the other hand was very nice...unassuming...quite quiet.just wanted a burger and a coke and then left on a floatplane.

When I met some of the Canucks...Jovo,Ohlund and Linden....it should have been a great moment for this uber hockey fan....but alas it was during the lockout and I was feeling a wee bit bitter about it. I just wanted to berate their asses back to the bargaining table. But I held my tongue and my kid got their autographs.

hey Van...where did you meet Clinton?

I also met Ms Stone. She was at the Pittsburgh Zoo. She grew up in Meadville PA. About 80 - 100 miles from Pittsburgh, closer to Erie PA. This was before she really made it big, I believe about the time that movie with Arnie came out (Total Recall).

Like you said TC, She was such a total bitch. Well we were at the concession stand and she and her entourage attempted to get in front of me my buddy and our kids in line. They were being all pushy and arrogant so my buddy tells them to wait their turn.

She goes something like "do you know who I am?" We go Uhh.. No. "I'm Sharon Stone". We're like "Who??" " I'm an actress! Blah, Blah, Blah" We said something like big deal and started laughing in her face.
She got so pissed I thought her head was going to explode! To this day I can't stand the bitch.

I just saw the list of winners of the ECMA's and realized I'm friends with both the Male and Female Artist of the Year - Joel Plaskett (actually I'm friends with his mom) and Mary Jane Lamond.

But the most famous person I've met would probably be Rob Zombie. My sister dated him in high school.
